Sister Alexander played the piano for the singing.. Dr. and Mrs. Toombs lead a dialogue in place of a sermon. FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION WORKSHOP The Family Life Education Workshop, with Counsel- lors Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Toombs, of the Pastoral Institute, Winnipeg, was most interesting and inform- ative, to. those who found the time to attend. Al- though there were many other activities that particul- ar weekend, those who attended found it wothwhile. Dr. Toombs showed films, and is an excellent speaker. Mrs. Toombs conducted the Saturday after- noon session on Communication. Saturday evening was particularly interesting, since the subject was "What and How Shall | Tell My Child! A goodly number of teen-agers were present, and formed a panel, expressing their views and asking questions. A round table discussion took place, and the opinion was formed that there is a greater need for Family Life Education, both for youngsters, teen- agers and their parents. Many parents need family life education before they can communicate freely with their children, expecially in the field of sex education. An Inter-Faith service took place Sunday morning in the High School, with Father Gvora, of St. Mar- tir's and Rev. Husser, of the Community Church both BUS DRIVERS SEMINAR HELD The Department of Transport, with J. Fraser Rea- vell, Assistant Director of Safety Education, of Toronto, and R. Lewis, Accident Prevention Organ- izer for Northwestern Ontario, stationed in Thunder Bay, and John Carroll, Accident Prevention Officer O.P.P., Marathon Detachment, held a seminar for School Bus Drivers in the Terrace Bay High School . The purpose of the seminar was to meet the bus drivers, to discuss problems of interpretations of rules, regarding laws, and inter-action between bus. drivers, school officials and parents; and ways and © means of handling discipline problems. Mr. J. Morgan, Director of the Lake Superior Board of Education, made the preliminary arrange- ments for this seminar. There are seven bus drivers covering the areas of Marathon, Manitouwadge, Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Rossport, supervised by Bus owner Werner - cont'd page 8 .......
