SCHREIBER "KIN" CORNER The regular meeting of Schreiber Kinsmen was 'held in the "Restaurant LeBlanc" on Monday Oct. 6th. Guests present were Walter Klassen, Patrick Mulligan, Phillip Nagy and Neil Truman. It was decided to raise the 1970-71 dues from the present $20. to $25. This will assist in financing projects; paying national dues and meeting current expenses . The club will place a wreath at the cenotaph on November 11th. A cash donation will be founded to the Marathon High School Drum and Bugle Band. On Friday, November 7th, the organization will sponsor a Bingo in order to raise money for worth - - while causes. A raffle and "peanut blitz" will take place later this fall, for the same purpose. Kin Dominic Figiiomeni will organize a "work party" at White Sand Lake, later this month. At that time , further developments in the beach area will be made and preparations for winter will be completed. Ail members are working diligently to finalize the "last minute" arrangements for the Fall Council _which is being held in Schreiber. After adjournment, a social hour was held at Kin Gino Caccamo's DISTRICT TWO KINSMEN. FALL COUNCIL The Association of Kinsmen Clubs of District Two will hold their fall ¢ouncil in Schreiber ,this week- end. Approximately 140 delegates from Manitoba and Northern Ontario will meet to set policies pertinent to Kinsmen Clubs of the district. The Local innkeepers have co-operated and will provide comfortable accommodation to the many quests. October 17th. On Saturday, meals will be served in the Guild Hall by the following ladies organizations: breakfast - Schreiber Kinettes; dinner - United Church Women and supper - Catholic Women's League. Meetings will take place on Saturday in Schreiber High School auditorium. On Saturday ize will be presented in the Town Hall. Registration for these courses will take place at 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22nd. at the School. The fee is payable at this time. A limited number of registrations can still be ac- cepted in these two areas. If any readers wish to be included in the shorthand or typewriting classes, they should telephone 824-2555 to indicate their interest. SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL HOME AND SCHOOL The Ist meeting of the Schreiber High School Home and School Association will be held at 7.30 p.m. ' E.S.T. on Tuesday, October 21st. President G. Walsh plans to have members discuss the future of the organization in Schreiber. Memberships will be available to all who attend. Copies of Dr. $.G.B. Robinson's address entitled "An Examination of Hall-Dennis" will be distributed and discussed. school year will be welcome. During last school year, the Schreiber High School Home and School Association raised funds by selling memberships and raffling a grocery hamper. The organization contributed to the local high school in the following ways: Providing a scholarship to the grade 13 student with the highest average; making money available for purchasing library books, serving coffee at the two parent-teacher in- terviews and supplying refreshments at the gradua- tion exercises in June. benefits, the association serves as a communication link betweek the home and the school . It is hoped that all the parents of Schreiber High School students, regardless of whether they live in Rossport, Schreiber or Terrace Bay will support this worthwhile group by: being present at the meetings; purchasing memberships; and by support- ing the Home and School Association projects.
