OCTOBER 2, 1969 ACCIDENT PREVEN- TION The Angel's Harp Constable Carroll, O.P.P. spoke to the grade five class last week reminding them] of the many ways in which they can prevent accidents by following safety rules. His sense of humour was enjoyed by the children and at the same time he was able to put his point across. Constable Carroll will be returning to the school at regular intervals to conduct a safety program. In photo below the children are putting their noses to the grind. The children of grade four are busy at work, following an excursion. These charts are kept on record for weeks after the trip, and provide meaningful reading material for the children to read to each other. M.P.P. ADDRESSES CLASS Mr. Jack Stokes M.P.P. spent Thursday afternoon TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE speaking to grades 6,7, & 8at Holy Angels. The stud- ents are studying the Indians of Canada. They invited Mr. Stokes in to speak on today's Canadian Indianse and the problems they face. His talk was very informative and left the children with much to think about. Questions followed Mr. Stokes delivery. Mr. Stokes answered these questions with clarity and at the level of the students. We wish to thank Mr. Stokes for taking time from his busy schedule to speak to the students of our school . This poem was composed by a grade six student Corra Morrow - from Mr. Small's room - - - IF | CAN If | can be a movie star, I'll travel to places very far I'd work in a nice bright studio Way far from Canada, like Mexico. If | can be a Queen in blue, Then it would be a dream come true. I'd wear long robes of silk and satin, And my shoes would be made of dark black patin. If | can be a beautiful witch I'd. have magic powers that would make me rich I'd disguise myself as other people And fly as high as the tall church steeple. | know | can't have all these things | can really just have one, | just want to be myself So | can have some fun.
