Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arnold and Trevor of Vancouver are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smart - visiting also Mrs. Lorne O'Neil in hospital . Mrs. Hal Markell, with her family, is here from Ottawa visiting her mother Mrs. Saima Willoughby . Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holmes and their family have returned from a holiday in Winnipeg, bringing with them Mr. K.S. Holmes. Miss Gwen Hadley, president of the Northshore Women's Teachers' Federation was the delegate attending the recent convention of Women Teachers in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Len O'Brien have returned from visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sten Lif in Cockenour and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Duncan on McKenzie Island, , bringing back with them Mary Lynn O'Brien who has spent her holidays there. Danny and Gloria Ilijow have spent the weekend | with their grandfather Walter Ilijow. A Jubilee Fall Fair has been planned by St. A Andrew's United Church for Friday Sept. 12th in the local arena. The program will begin at 3 p.m. with a display of the auction items, and sale of coffee and dough- nuts, with a bake table and novelties also offered. At 4p.m. there will be a penny auction, and from 7-9 p.m. a Giant Auction. At 9.30 a dance for young and old will start, continuing until: 12.30 and the wearing of centennial and other period gowns will be appreciated. Mrs. Percy Johnson of Bowmanville, Mrs. Kevin O'Flaherty and family and Miss Wendy Fontaine of Fort William have returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. Kirkpatrick. Mrs. Don Webster and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Relph of Fort William were guests of their sister Mrs. Ray Cook last week visiting also another sister Mrs. Art Moorey. Neldine West has gone to Toronto to take a hairdressing course. Keith Searles of Agincourt spent the weekend holidaying here. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power were Mr. and Mrs. H. Ryan of Killaloe, Mr. and Mrs. W. Conlon of Conniston and Mr. and Mrs. Nello Modisto of Elliot Lake. TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 4, 1969 O'BRIEN - CHRISTIE UNITED IN HOLY ANGEL'S CHURCH Summer flowers were the background for the wedding, on July 19, in Holy Angel's Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber of Barbara Meryle Christie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson Christie, of Yellowknife, N.W.T. and formerly of Geraldton and Kevin Joseph O'Brien son of Mrs. Marion O'Brien and the late Hilary O'Brien, of Schreiber. Father J.M. Cano officiated. Miss Brenda Lalond was the organist and Giovanni Cebrario the solist. Terry O'Driscoll was the best man and Camille Perras and Desmond O'Driscoll the ushers, The bride, given in marriage by William Wiznuk, her brother-in-law, chose a traditional floor-length gown of peau de soie with wedding ring collar and three quarter length sleeves of French lace. A band of peau de soie at the : empire waist featured a bow at the front and fell losely in- to a train at the back. Her floor length veil of illusion net was caught by a cluster of nylon petals edged with seed pearls. Her bouquet was a cascade of yellow shasta daisies. Mrs. William Wiznuk, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Carol Christie and Miss Karen Wiznuk, and the flower girls was Catherine Wiznuk, nieces of the bride. They wore identically styled gowns of mint green moire, slim fitting, featuring empire waists marked by front bows, with tinyrosesstes of the same material in their hair, and they carried mini cascades of the shasta daisies. The wedding was followed by a dinner in the Guild Hall and later a reception in the home of the groom's mother. For their honeymoon in Duluth and Minneapolis the bride donned a beige crepe dress with wedding ring collar and matching coat, her accessories in borwn, and her corsage: of rust carnation. continued page I5 .ecccees
