JUNE 5, 1969. TERRACE BAY NEWS To close this week's column Mr. Cornfield would like to assure members that the two temporary greens will shortly be replaced by two new fine texturéd greens. Good golfing and don't forget the divots. Semi-Annual Golf Meeting - cont'd from page 7 ... Lakehead, gave lessons on weekends. Perhaps this year golf clinics could be added. Tournament Chairman Dick Rattray is a very busy man, and should be given some encouragement and recognition by the members who fail to observe the posted organized tournaments . : Dick has spent much time arranging and setting up the men's match play and men's foursome match play competitions. To date very few have signed for either tournament. Members should pay a little attention to the board posting and become acquaint- ed with the coming events and activities which are meticulously planned for the season. So please, on our next entry in the club house, spend a minute at the board and sign up for the tournament in which we are interested. Doing this will help immensely in finalizing the details necessary for a tournament. Jack Phillips advises everyone who will partic- ipate in the June 14th inter-club tournament with the Lakehead that the draw will be posted June 11th. Entry fee of $2.00 will be collected when regis- tering. Anyone not contacted but wishing to enter this tournament is quite welcome and should contact Joe Adamo immediately. Membership Chairman Ray Hansen, announced that membership to date is 162. Considering the late arrival of warm weather this number is very good. It is expected that membership will be over the 200 mark again this year. The many improvements visible throughout the course will add greatly to its already scenic beauty. With such pleasant surroundings plus anticipated greens and fairways second to none the Aquasobon Golf Course will indeed stand out as a marvelous accomplishment and an invaluable asset to the dis- trict. Club President A. Pattison thanked Kimberly- Clark Co. for their continued support. To day when everyone seems to have a hand out | | for any services, which in reality are duties, towardg ; one a a community it is a pleasure to have the opportunity | | to assist in an endeavour which receives so liberally from local industry. Appreciation for such support is undoubtly the reason why committee replacements are never a problem. It is fortunate there are still people who gener- ously gave their time toward community effort with no other remuneration than the satisfaction that they are fullfilling a duty and rendering a service to the community . - continued next column...
