All lands in the Improvement Districts of Beardmore, Manitouwadge, Nakina, Marathon, and Red Rock, in the Territorial District of Thunder Bay, are designated as areas of subdivision control under clause b of subsection I of section 27 of the Act. With a representative crowd the semi-annual golf meeting turned out quite interesting with var- ious discussions, criticisms and suggestions . The meeting was graced with the presence of a few lady golfers who contributed much to the meet= ing. ; The complaints boiled down to a unanimous beef which concerned the cutting-in on number five tee. The present sign will be changed and until a new sign is mounted members are urged to check closely number four fairway before teeing off on number five. Actually when you consider that no supervision is maintained on tee-offs this violation should be ex- pected and could have been much worse. Despite this complaint members are to be congra- tulated on the much improved etiquette due to both individual and collective effort. The handicap question also came up. Participa- tion in the numerous tournaments approaching makes it necessary for members to submit enough score cards in order to determine a realistic handicap. Handicap record cards are available at the club house. Assistance in filling record card can be obtained by any member. Considerable concern was expressed on lack of available instruction for new golfers. Much frus= tration and discouragement can be eliminated when instructional assistance is available. Al Pattison assured the meeting immediate consideration will be given to correcting the situation. Last year A. Middleton, a pro from - continued page 8 ....
