PAGE 12 MRS. WILLOUGHBY HEADS BIBLE SOCIETY Rev. Gilmour Beattie, District Secretary Canadian Bible Society, North Bay, spoke at a meeting of the Bible Society held in the United Church Hall. Mr. Beattie spoke on the work of the Bible Society throughout the world and showed a film 'The Trails: of the Translater." Election of officers for the !ocal Society was held, and are: past president - Mrs. Saima Willoughby, president - Mrs. Russell Macadam, secretary-treasur- er - Mrs. Wesley Clemens. Lunch was served following the meeting. ATTEND: LEGION CO NVENTION Albert Pearson, Mrs. Bobbie Winters and Mrs. Georgina Davis attended the 24 th biennial conven- tion of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Provin- cial Command held in Port Arthur. 'The sum of $251.99 was collected in the canvass for the Salvation Army. The canvass was conducted by the Legion Auxiliary with Mrs.. Georgina Davis compaign chairman. ANNUAL CRAFT SHOW PRESENTED BY SCOUTS Some 108 exhibits were en- "tered by Schreiber Scouts and Cubs at their annual hobby show recently at the high school. Judges were Walter Dukes, Paul Yungblut and Miss Joan Wray. : A good crowd attended and viewed the projects done by the boys. Lunch was served in the school hall. Attending the buf- 'ffet counter were Mesdames David Harrisori, Gerald Ban- Alex Furyk, Paul Ceb- | Three skits were presented by ithe scouts -- "The setting up of a tent," the right way and 'wrong way. Wills of Terrace Bay, and R. W. Tur- ner, representing the Schreiber Kinsmen Club which sponsors thé movement in Schreiber. Winners for the most entries "were Barry Glad for the cubs and Doug Glad for the scouts. Individual awards were pre- sented. to the following cubs -- Barry Glad, Donny May, Rickey Bryson, Robin Moore, Peter: Prinselaar, Bruce Hiller, John. Cebrario, Joey Campbell, David: Harrison, Robert LeBlanc, Hans Prinselaar, Billy MacKenzie, Daryi Wiznuc and Eric Glad. Individual awards were pre- sented to the following scouts -- Doug Glad, Bob Smilsky, David LeBlanc, Billy Souliere, Paddy Stokes, Vincent Maronese, Mi- chael Anderson, Shane Riley and Dennis -Zborowski. TOWN TOPICS Mrs. Bill Farrell of Kingston, Ont., is visiting her sister Mrs. Bruce Simon, Mr. and Mrs. Morrow Riddell are holidaying at their summer cottage at Sand Lake. Mrs. Frank MacDonald is a patient in Terrace Bay Hospital . Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Shewchuk and Robin of Port Arthur were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norman McCuaig over the weekend. The children and teachers of Holy Angel's School gathered for a Religious Celebration in honor of the Quee ship of Mary last Friday. The Celebration was con- ducted by the Grade E 'ight girls in the front past of the school yard. A shrine of Our Lady was set up and the children spent some time in group and silent prayer asking the Mother of God to bless our world. Hymns and Scripture Readings were also part of the Celebration. The girls who took the leading roles were Cathy Anderson, Alureen Kusik, Darlene Desmoulins, Beth Ross and Carol Webb situated left to right in photo below. Angel's Harp continued page 14.......
