Antony Speziale of the school staff reported on the district school board meeting and Mrs. Sanford Chicoine reported on the local school board meeting Mrs. Jean Trott, of the Ontario Institute for Stud ies and Education, and a teacher all her life, spoke on the new consepts in school and children. Using her own childhood as an exanple.Mrs. Trott pointed out differences in the children of today. In dealing with them the rule which still gives the best return, - js to be generous with praise and tolerant, when possible of faults. The keyword between all gener- ations i.e. communication. If this bridge is kept, there may not always be understanding but mutual tr trust and affection will solve many situations which would otherwise result in an impasse. After Mrs. Trott's address she answered questions from the au- dience who were delighted with her matter of fact replies and wit. Morrow Riddell of Durham is visiting with Mr. an Mrs. Ray Sisson while doing renovations at his camp at Sand Lake. Morrow came'bearing gifts' - maple syrup made in his own bush. Mr. and Mrs. Gino Spadoni are holidaying in Puerto Rico. Mr. and Mrs. Borden Ross have taken their daughter June to Toronto for medical attention. He has no dread of committing himself. With equal enthusiasm he throws himself into everyday routine. Whatever he does, wherever he goes, he carries with him an immense zest for life. Whether working, playing, . listening, learning, or performing, the students of S.H.S. are continually on the go. Once again they present their most anticipated event, Variety Night. Come to our Variety Night performance to be held on April 25, 1969 at 7.30 p.m in the S.H.S. Auditorium. Tickets can be bought in advance from any Schreiber High School student at $1.00 for adults and $.50 for students. Vocal and instrumental numbers, inter-collegiate gymnastics team, self- defense and a three act play will be presented. The students have learned a great deal during their preparations for Variety Night. Why don't you come out and share in the enjoyment of their labours? Skillen of Nipigon purchased Clem Downey's cottage on Shehan Bay. Mrs. Josephine Gerow and grandson Darwin Gerow are visiting relatives at Elliott Lake this week.
