Business ar- ising from the minutes included the report that an ad would be placed in the papers again, hoping to lo- ' cate a dog catcher. The Kiwanis Club will move their sign as soon as weather permits. ~ Correspondence included a letter from Kimberly Clark to the O.W.R.C. re the water supply. A letter was sent to Mrs. Hiebert, Secretary of the Horticultural Society, advising a grant of $82. was approved. The C.G.1.T. asked permission to hold a Carna- tion Sale on May 9th and 10th. Permission granted. The Navy League also asked permission to hold a Tag Day on May 9th and 10th. Council advised them of the prior request, and suggested they choose an- other date, if possible. A letter from the Board of Management of the Thunder Bay District Home for the Aged was receiv- ed, advising that proper approval will be received for further expenditures of a capital nature. A copy of correspondence from the Association of Mayors and Reeves to the Honorable A. Wishart, Attorney General, protesting the power of the Divisional Board of Education for debentures for capital purposes without considering the wishes of 'local authorities was read. Tenders will be called for care and maintenance of Centennial Park and the Boulevards around town.
