Wittenberg spoke of changes taking place in every aspect of life these days and in turn such committees as these are bound to reflect to some degree chdhges Many communities are reluctant to accept newer ways, wary of different values and changes in power structure. Certainly the community recreation com- + mittees are affected by these changes in achieving their objective, with programs and activities eval- vated from a different point of view, and some former ones perhaps dropped as irrelevant. The municipal recreation committee, alert to its place and responsibility can effect some of the com- ing changes and by its leadership shape public opin ion to understand and to a great part accept the in- novations, no where can there be a greater challenge in this particular area of civic responsibility than in Northwestern Ontario at the present time.
