Vol. 10 No. 47 COUNCIL QUOTES Town Council met Monday evening with Reeve Cav- anaugh in the chair. Councillors present were: R.Bray J. Caccamo, D. Desrosiers and R. Sinotte. Reeve Cavanaugh made a presentation, on behalf of the town council, to Mr. Albert Farrow, who was in- strumental in planning and doing so much work on the Centennial Park. Mr. Farrow who was presented with a Township crest and a lapel pin, expressed his thanks to the Reeve and Council. Correspondence was read by Clerk Hanley - a letter received from Mr. W.J. McKie, meter reader, asking for a salary increase, will be-reviewed in January. The Ski Club asked permission to bring in a display of ski equipment, from out of town, to show their members. Council suggested they contact local mer- chants first, as to their supply of equipment and to advise the out of town vendor that he would be requir- ed to have a Vendor's License. A letter was read from A. Pattison, addressed to Recreation and passed on to Town Council, asking per mission to build an outdoor skating rink for unorganize hockey and skating in the park area, bordered by Pop- lar Crescent and Hudson Drive.. This will be a joint effort on the part of interested citizens in the neigh- bourhood. Kimberly-Clark offered the use of equip- ment needed, when convenient. Mr. D. Courte- manche on behalf of Recreation, gave his permission and Council voted their approval . A report from the Police Department stated that the Centennial Caravan stayed o ernight and caused no problems. Magazine vendors were advised of the vendor's permit required to sell in Terrace Bay, and not wishing to comply, were sent on their way. The four men have been notified that they were successful in the examinations and have received their higher grade Stationary Engineer's certificate.
