Tobias Goodchild has left for his home in Port Arthur and John Aggamaway for Longlac. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Hubelit and Alfred Ray motored to Port Arthur during the week. Mr. & Mrs. Joiner visited relatives in Lindsay this week. Mrs. Geo. Kay and daughter Mrs. Darlene Weiss of Fort William visited the Todesco family. John C. Todesco, B.A.,B.Comm., M.B.A. and family of Sarnia, Ontario are also guests at the Todesco home. The Yacht Reona of Lansing, Michigan anchored here for a week before leaving on a fishing cruise of the islan ds. C. Hen ry and Alphonse Fenton were business visitors to the Lakehead over the weekend. Miss Camilla Todesco visited friends in Nipigon during the week. Mrs. Annie Molinski left Monday for her home in Beausejour, Manitoba. Mrs. Grace Bruley accompanied her to Port Arthur. Mr. & Mrs. Testori are visiting relatives at the Lakehead . Visiting the Geo. Bruley summer camp are Mr. & Mrs. Allan McDevitt and family, Miss Jennifer Wilkins and Michael Skinner of Port Arthur. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Greer and family of Part Arthur are visiting the Dave Mushqush family. Weekend guests of Mr. & Mrs. R.T.Kenney were Mr. & Mrs. J. King, Mr. & Mrs. A.Prairie and family, Mrs. Len Johnson all of Port Arthur. Wednesday evening Joyce Mushqush entertained at a birthday honoring Carol Lespenski's 16th birthday . Guests included Carol and Nancy Lespenski, Agnes and Joyce Mushqush, Shirley Ann Spencer, Shirley Bouchard, Colleen Kenney, Diane Lespenski, Peter, Mushqush, David, Roger and Wayne Spencer. The guest of honor received several gifts and an evening of dancing and singing was enjoyed. The Centennial Committee met last week at Mrs. L. Ibey's home to report on Sunday's tea, antique display and re-union. Chairman Mrs. Todesco July 27, 1967 expressed her appreciation to the ladies church groups for making the event such a success. Mrs. T.Yandon moved a vote of thanks to Mrs. Todesco for her # leadership. A discussion was held over the possibility of serv- ing coffee and donuts to the voyageurs should they stop here and wear Centennial gowns to greet them. A bean supper to be held in September as a last Centennial project . Plans are to be completed by the end of August. Following adjournment Mrs Ibey served lunch. Mrs. CeTodesco Chairman Centennial Committee, Mrs. LeIbay Secretary. FORMER RESIDENTS RETURN FOR RE-UNION Many former residents met Sunday for the first time in several years at Rossport Hall. Registration took place in the lobby with Mrs. Ibey and Mrs. Testori in attendance at which time name badges were distributed. The Centennial Committee, wore gowns of Confederation era as did many guests calling during the day. Mrs. Todesco, chairman of the committee, greeted guests in a gay ninety costume. The hall was decorated with fishing equipment in keeping with the industrial side of the village. On one side of the hall a varied selection of antiques were on display donated by many Rossport residents. The tea table was appropriately centred with birch candlestick holders and an arrangement of flowers. Mrs. Agnes Gerow and Mrs. Elinor O'Conn or ( the Reid sisters born and raised here) poured tea. Also pouring were: Mrs. J.King and Mrs. W. Mogg (both former residents Lena Legault and Bertha Damp- ier.) Servitors were: (continued on Page !4)
