Jul 27, 1967 O©.P.P. REPORT ( from Page 5) A safety check lane was held by the Department of Transport July 18-21 when 238 vehicles were checked. Two were removed from the highway due to unsafe conditions, 125 vehicles had defects and only 67 were issued with safety stickers. Corp. Kulmatycki, appreciates the public response fo this safety lane. One property damage accident resulted in $600. and nine accidents involving moose have been investigated since May 9. Following is a list of events which will take place to celebrate our official opening: August 4 - 8- 12 midnight "Monte Carlo" night in the Curling Lounge. August 5 - 8.30 to 1 a.m. - dance in the Arena. August 6 - Official Opening Ceremony, afternoon tea at 2 p.m. - Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, 8 - 12 midnight - open air dance at the Golf Club.
