Bradshaw, president of the New Confedera- tion College in Fort William was in Terrace Bay last Thursday evening to explain the proposed curriculum and the place of these new colleges in the education- al system. Educators have long been aware of the need to | m ii er extend the educational system beyond the secondary school level and yet not of university or degree granting status. Government sponsored, no appeal | for public funds will be made for Confederation College. Primarily, the need is to acquaint both parents and students of the courses being offered at the College and Mr. Bradshaw indicated that he or his staff will come to the district at any time to speak if asked to do so. Adults too, even though they are not secondary school graduates, can up grade themselves through courses to be offered. Mr. Bradshaw suggested an advisory committee be established to screen suggested courses designed to suit area needs. Courses offered this year will include applied arts and business and commerce , Technical Training and Technology. These will fall into three categories, a three year diploma course, a two year technical course and an undefined time limit (short term) certificate course.
