David Harrison, chairman was M.C. and introduced the recently formed group committee Mrs. Georgette Cebrario, secretary; Mrs. Anne Banning, treasurer; Joe Speziale, Barry Harper, Mrs. Harrison and Roly Gander. A representative of each church and members of the sponsoring club form the committee. A garden party and a weekend camp at Whitesand lake are among plans for the summer months. The cubs will carry on with regular hikes and outings, but with fewer meetings for the scouts. Rev. J.M. Cano offered the Grace and Keith Scott gave the Toast to the Fathers, to which his dad, responded. Corned Prinselaar proposed A Toast To the C.W.L. ladies who provided the banquet. Giovanni Cebrario led the boys in a spirited chorus Scout leader Russell Campbell introduced his assist- ants - Edgar LeBlanc, Mike Cosgrove, Leonard Huard working with thirty-two boys and pleaded for fathers to come out and help since more leaders are required. Mrs. Doris Gauthier introduced her assistants - Mesdames Isabel Perras, Pat Moore, Sharon Lamour= eaux with Chuck Hall and Lawrence Madge as scout assistant leaders. Ray Cook presented Janice Fournier and Giovanni Cebrario as his assistants. District Commissioner, Roland Wills explained cancellation of the cub camporee recently. Weather and raod conditions prevented Manitouwadge cubs from participating . The event will take place later. He urged that arrangements be made to have Schreiber represented when the Chief Scout of the Commonwealth will be in the Lakehead on October I7 when, it is hoped, he will be greated by 5,000 scouts and cubs massed in» the arena. This will-be the largest assembly of scouts and cubs ever gathered in N orthwestern Ontario. He commended Schreiber as the first and only group to hold an annual Hobby Show in the Pic River district. Wright Archbishop of Algoma and Metropolitan of Ontario was in Schreiber on Sunday to conduct confirmation services in St. John's Anglican Church. Nancy and Terrance Arm- strong, Margaret Anne Bailey, Linda Karen Birch, Karen Elizabeth Glad, of Schreiber, Jeanne May, Kathleen Anne, Patricia Jane, and Dianne Thorpe of Terrace Bay were confirmed.
