WEEKLY REPORF FROM THE SCHREIBER DETACHMENT OF THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE Detachment Commander Corp. M. Kulmatycki of Schreiber O.P.P. reports a total 264 duty hours served with 3,161 miles patrolled from April 30 to May 6. Two property damage accidents were report- | ed. 43 vehicles were given safety checks, 19 motor- ists warned, and 8 charges laid under Ontario High- way Traffic Act. 5 transients were given meal tickets from Schreiber Transient and Welfare Fund. May 7 to 13. - a total of 184 duty hours served with | 3525 miles patrolled. One theft investigated, one break, and.entry and one other investigation conduct- ed: 'Three*property damages reported with accidents amounting to $1,420. ROSSPORT NEWS Liorarian Mrs. Joyce Yandon announced that the new library will only be open Saturday mornings until further notice. Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Gerow and sons of Fort William were guests of the Eugene Gerow family over the weekend. Blaine Miller and party of Marion, Wisconsin arriv- ed Saturday with their cruiser to fish among the is- lands in the bay. Isadore Ray and sons of Coldwell visited Mrs. A.Ray over the weekend. W. Hubelit visited Mrs. Hubelit in Por t Arthur General Hospital on Friday. Chief Lawrence Mushqush of Pays Plat Mission spent the weekend at Grand Marais, Minnesota on tribal business . Eight white swans rested here several days feeding along the shoreline before taking off for their north- ern home. The Curling Club Executive held a special meeting Monday evening to make arrangements to raise funds to complete painting of the rink. TERRACE BAY NEWS May 18, 1967 The Five Hundred Card Club wound up their series of games Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. H. Yandon with Mrs. Joyce Yandon co-hostess. Prizes | for cards were won by Mrs. Prina Gerow, Mrs. Bertha Lif and Mrs. Joyce Yandon. Eight other | contests were enjoyed with suitable prizes awarded. | Luncheon was served and-a social hour enjoyed. Members dressed in Centennial costumes for the event; Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Mogg, and Mr. & Mrs. J. King all former Rossportites motored here Sunday from Port Arthur to have their pictures taken in front of the little church where Bertha Jane Dampier and Wm. Mogg were married 50 years ago on May 15. Their | attendants were Mr. & Mrs. Lena Legault and J. King. Mr. & Mrs. T. Thompson accompanied them. After renewing acquaintances, they returned to Port Arthur for a family dinner in their honour by their daughter Mrs. Walter Weisse. Sunday evening the community church ladies sponsored a tea and penny auction in the hall under the convenorship of Mrs. Tom Yandon. Some of the ladies serving tea wore Centennial costumes. Taking admission was Mrs. Ibey. Handling the Penny Auction were Miss Lorraine Seppala, Mrs.T. Seppala, Mrs. T. 'Yandon, Mrs. H.Lif and Mrs. Hattie Yandon brewed the tea. | MOTHERS DAY TEA ( from Page 14) and Mrs. R. Macadam of the United Church women; rs. J.D. Bryson, Mrs. L.R. A quartet from the Bible School in Winnipeg sang in the Schreiber Gospel Mission Monday evening. Singers were Chuck Erickson, Jim Ferguson, Ed Peas good and Nick Wagenhoffer who- were most generous with their program, singing old Gospel hymns and new sacred songs. Neil Snider, speaker for them, was introduced by Marshall Lawrence and during the evening a colored film was shown.
