Page 12 U.C .W. MEETING Mrs. G. Lehto was welcomed as ;a new member at the May meeting of U.C.W. with Mrs. John Spillane presiding. _ Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar took the devotion period. Mrs. Oscar Niemi reported two quilts had been sold and $30. given to the treasurer. Notice was received of a school for women of U.C. W. of Superior Presbitory to be held May 26, 27 and 28 in Lakehead University . The price on a luncheon to be catered for was sent to the Centennial Committee. June lunch convenors are Mesdames Alex Gordon, Lil Christie, Jim Gray and Earl Holmes. RECREATION CORNER - by D. Courtemanche Men's Fastball - A general meeting for all persons, including junior players, is scheduled for this Fri- day, May |2 at 8.30 p.m. in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. The agenda will include summer schedule, tournament at Red Rock and registrations. All interested persons are urged to attend. Intermediate Hockey Meeting - The proposed Terrace Bay-Schreiber combines are holding a gen- eral meeting on Wednesday, May I7 at 7 p.m. in the small meeting room at the Recreation Centre. Further plans to form a Northshore Intermediate league will be discussed. All hockey oe are welcome to attend. Minor Fastball - If you have not picked up a reg- istration form for this summer, these are 'available at the Recreation Office or at the elementary schools. Don't forget the deadline for registrations is this Friday, May 12, and the forms are to be turned in to the Recreation Office before this date. Playground Programme - This year's playground programme promises to be very successful. Many staff applications have been received, and it will be quite a chore to decide who the successful can- didates will be on the Playground staff. The play- ground Training Course will be held in Terrace Bay again this year, from June 21 to 24 inclusive. We are expecting 35 to 40 people to be in Terrace for this course. In the very near future, we will be soliciting billets to accommodate these people , and it is hoped that full co-operation will be received. Teen Town - Plans are underway for the Teen Town Summer Festival which is slated for June 29, 30 and July |. Already established in Schreiber, this enterprise should prove a valuable asset to the town. Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh, pictured above, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening. Looking on are Mrs. Y. Cebrario, Mrs. R. Hiller and Mr. P. Ceb- rario. Early patrons were welcomed with flowers for the ladies, balloons for the children and screw- drivers for the men.
