Mr. Ab Farrow presided. Membership chairman Jean Megraw reported that the 1967 premiums, gladiolus bulbs, are ready for distribution with 101 memberships sold to date. Terry Dorland has 87 Junior Gardeners registered for the coming gardening season and seeds for this work have been purchased. A motion to have a Silver dollar as first prize, and a 25¢ third prize in the Jr. Gardeners division of the Annual Flower and Vegetable Show during Centennial year, carried. A third prize of 25¢ will also be added in the adult section. 'Members were reminded that garden and lawn fert- ilizers, etc., will be available soon, and may be ordered by calling Rudy Gerlach at 3507. A car load of manure will be ordered if about thirty members are interested. The motion that each society member will be res- ponsible for cultivating his own garden plots was seconded and unanimously approved. A committee of John Steen , Willard Vezina, Henry Hermes, and Jack Moore will supervise plant- ing shrubs in Centennial Park, under the direction of Mr. Ab Farrow. CONVENTION The Fort William Diocesan Council, The Catholic Women's League of Canada will be holding their 14th annual Diocesan Convention in Terrace Bay on May 9-10-I1 with St.Martin of Tours Parish as the Hostess Council . The theme of the Convention will be "The Indien Apostolate" The Convention opens formally Tuesday at 8 p.m. in St.Martin's Church Hall with greetings from local and civic dignitaries . The keynote speaker, Reverend Guy DeBretagne, O.M.1. will talk on "Indian-White Relations". Other speakers will be Reverend D.Hannin, S.J., (continued on Page 5
