Crandlemire. : 0 MARI FRENCH TEACHER HONOURED One of the most amusing parties of the year Was given by the adult French Conversation class to their teacher, Jean Paul Tessier, when since none of them (due to unavoidable absenteeism) had graduated, they instead presented him with a very formal docu=:~ ment attesting to his ability as a teacher. The group met in the home of Mrs. Bill Hawke, following the last class, and in German, Dutch, Finnish and Ital- ian, wished him well, and gave their appreciation of the winter classes. Various amusing small gifts were presented. Don Beno presented the Teaching Certificate, and on hehalf of the group, Father Cano presented a formal gift. Photo by Inez McCuaig. Following a recent class visit to a display of Eskimo Prints in the Terrace Bay Art Gallery, Mr. A.York'ts Grade 5 class at the Public School decided to try their own versions. Much experimenting wes needed before the technique was dev- q eloped sufficiently to produce clear prints. Linoleum was used, and a variety of inks tried before results were obtained They carried on the Eskimo theme as being most suited to the medium end some of the very handsome prints at present on display in the school are shown in the photograph.
