Hicks of Halifax, President of the Canadian Bible Society, has announced that the Reverend N. D. Pilcher, M.A,, L.S.T., Rector of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Quebec City, has been appointed Assistant Dis- trict Secretary of the Canadian Bible Society in the Montreal and Quebec Districts. He assumed his position'on February 1. Born in Sherbrooke, Que., he holds an M.A. and L.S.T. from Bishop's University and was or- dained in the Quebec Diocese in 1939 following which he served as Assistant in the Anglican Cath- edral in Quebec City. For six years he was Rector at Drum- mondville, Quebec, and when Bishop Russel F. Brown was elec- ted Bishop of Quebec, Mr. Pil- cher succeeded him as Rector of St. Matthew's, Quebec City. These included: a programme for beginners and new members, regular Thursday work sessions, a spring course with an outside instructor and various activities and exhibits in the Art Gallery in which citizens of Terrace Bay can participate. The first of these will be an "Open Weekend", March 4th and 5th in the Art Gallery. A tea, draw and exhi bit of Eskimo prints from the Winnipeg Art Gallery as well as an exhibition of members' work will only comprise a few of the features of the weekend. Everyone invited to attend. Anyone interested in a Ceramics course, please register at the Recreation Centre or call Mrs. Middaugh at 3339. If enough interest is shown, courses will be run for both adults and children. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Cora Bajkiewicz who left for Barrie, Ontario on receiving news of the death of her father, Mr.W.H. Mason.
