Last week's winners were Marvin Osmar, Al Ziegelman, Peter Barz, Paul Coupal and Ludwik Petrus. Many people experience injuries because they did not know the hazard involved or they did not think about the hazard or they just didn't care. Accidents can only be prevented when we include safety in everything we do, whether it's on the job or driving a car or working at home. Remember this week's safety slogan message: "KNOW YOUR JOB HAZARDS - DON'T LEARN BY ACCIDENT" D .RAFALANT HEADS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE At a general meeting of Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce held last Thursday in the Recreation Centre officers for 1967 were elected as follows: President - D.Rafalant, Vice-President - S.Kolesar, Directors - N.Cornthwaite, L.Crandlemire, S. Hodgkiss, Mrs.1.Marsh, T.Costa, L.Waghorn. Minutes of a previous meeting were read and approved and current correspondence dealt with. A letter regardin ga "Golden Spike" historical marker was approved and a policy brief on daylight saving time sent to the Ontario Chamber of Comm- erce. Plans for a proposed Hospitality Seminar to be held in this district April 14 were discussed. A committee will attend a preliminary meeting in errace bay on rebruary Next Column.... Serving the District TERRACE BAY NEWS January 26,1967 An amendment was made to a motion covering donation of a plaque for the Centennial Park and a committee to make recommendations re same appointed. Damage to the exterior of the Post Office and general untidiness in the business section was noted and authorities present gave assurance of remedial steps. Chamber meetings are held each month on the 4th Thursday in the Recreation Centre. If you would like to help promote your town - join the Chamber of Commerce. FINE CURLING IN NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO PLAYDOWNS The big news in Curling this week is of course, the Ladies Northwestern Ontario Playdowns current- ly running at the Terrace Bay Curling Club. Some fine shots are being made, many of which are not reflected in the final scores.
