TERRACE Forbes Macadam, retired locomotive engineer, has a prized possession - a 45 colt carried by his father in 1885 during the Riel Rebellion. Mr.Macadam's father was a Scot, who took his surgeon's degree in that country. On coming to Canada he attended Queen's University. Receiving with Georgette were her mother, Mrs. Arthur LeBlanc, her fiance's mother, Mrs. J.M. Cebrario and Miss Sherry Condie. Miss Marion Precott was dining room hostess and the servitors were the Misses Rona Godin, Dorothy Harrison, Billie Ann Cocks, and Muriel Holmes. Replenishing were Mesdames Alex Power, Ron. Paul Cebrario was honored at a stag party arrang- ed by 140 friends from Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Marathon in the Moose Hall in Terrace Bay . Cards were played, buffet lunch served and during the evening Bill Kushnieryk presented a substantial purse to Paul in token of their good wishes on his coming marriage . St.John's Church Women's Auxiliary will hold a turkey patty tea and bazaar, February 4, in the Church Hall, from3 - 5.30 p.m. The Catholic Women's League held their deferred Christmas dinner meeting January 18 with 47 present despite a raging blizzard. Grace was said by Father J.M.Cano and a vote of appreciation given to the Busy Bees group of St.John's Anglican Church who provided the meal . Father Cano spoke briefly commending the member for the contribution made to Church and parish activities. In a short business meeting the reports were made as follows: Spiritual, Mrs .Edna Cocks sending two boxes of books to the Fort William Sanatorium. Education, Mrs. Dora McGrath distributing Christmas treats to all Separate School students. Social Action, Mrs. Gloria Mullins delivered Christmas hampers. Guides and Brownies, Mrs .Jackie Tremb lay was happy t o report two new leaders have volunteered. Mrs. J.D.Bromley for Brownies and Mrs. Ross Hill for Guides. Five Brownies will be presented with their Religion and Life emblems during the evening service on January 22 in Holy Angels Church. Catholic Girls Club, Mrs. Mary Shack - members will hold a Centennial tea February 25 wearing gowns made by the members for this occasion. A gift exchange followed the meeting. Mr.&Mrs. Ralph Morrill (nee Marjorie Sisson) entertained at a family dinner party to mark their 25th wedding anniversary. In the evening a group of friends gathered for a surprise party in their honor, presenting a money tree and many other gifts in token of their good wishes. Taking part are senior and junior choirs of St.Andrew's United Church, St. John's Anglican Choir, Holy Angel's Roman Catholic church Choir and the high school choir.
