Page 9 GUIDER CONVENTION TO BE HELD The Terrace Bay Girl Guide Association held their regular meeting with Mrs.Hazel Lang presid- ing. Mrs. Betty Turner and Mrs.Helen Farrell read the minutes and treasurer's report. New business and correspondence were discussed. It was agreed to hald a Guider Training Session in the ;near future as local Guiders were unable to attend the one held in the Lakehead recently. The Association was delighted to hear that a ' local Guide, Lorraine Belliveau , had been chosen to attend the Heritage Camp in 1967. Plans for the Guide and Brownie garden plots in the Centennial Park were discussed and the plans for the design and floral arrangement drawn up by Mr. Ab Farrow were accepted as most appropriate and satisfactory. The Chairman announced that the Annual Meet- ing will be held January 23, at which time all reports should have been prepared and presented. Following secret- ary's and treasurer's reports a motion was made to make a donation to the Students' Christian Move- ment at Lakehead University. Mrs. Edna Beddard reported on the Christmas Bazaar which had shown a comfortable margin of profit. Mrs. Aggie Sinkins thanked those who convened the lunch for the Figure Skating Clinic, while Mrs. Stella Brown thanked those who convened the production, Portraits of the Past, as well as all the models and those who assisted with dressing and make-up. For the Christmas Program, convened by Mrs, Charlotte Slomke and Mrs. Donna Gorham, the members retired to the Sanctuary of the Church where they were joined by husbands, guests and members of the Terrace Bay Men's Chorus. Christmas music, songs and hymns were featured, together with Scripture readings and stories read by Mrs. Connie Cvitkovich and Mrs. Helen Brooks. Lunch followed convened by Mrs. June Schritt. Next meeting will be held January 2.
