E.E.Long, B.A., B.D., D.D., & LL.D., secre- tary of the General Council of the United Church of Canada as guest speaker at the inter-faith dinner which was held in the Moose Hall . Doctor Long is a word traveller and is active in the Ecumenical Movement. He traced the history of this movement from the early 1900's to the present day. He informed his audience of current ecumenical activities in North America and abroad and he made some sugges- tions as to what the future might bring. Dr .Long commended those present on their initiative in getting together to foster better understanding . The speaker was introduced by Mr.John Ferrier and thanked by Mr.Ray Kenney. On Saturday, June 4th, the women teachers of Terrace Bay and Schreiber public schools attended the area meeting of the local association of the Federation of Women Teachers, held in Marathon. At this meeting Mrs.Dora Trach and Miss Marion Desormeau of the Terrace Bay staff were elected president and secretary respectively, for the com- ing year.
