The Hencher trophy for the winning team was presented to captain Ross Hill, Ray and Pat Cook, Mary and Harry Martin- sen, and Esther Niemi. The roll-off team trophy went to Quent Hamilton, Mary and Elton Fummerton, Gladys Madigan, Lorraine Fadden and George Hamilton. The ladies high average was won by Ida Krause, 194. Men's high average went to Doug Bennett, 205; ladies triple, Ida Krause, 715; men's high triple, Quent Hamilton 754; high singles, Jimmy Figliomeni, 341, and Donna Nygaard 326. Consolation orizes to first year bowlers went to Gus Krause 34 and Jackie Bromley 45. Prizes for personality quirks in bowling went to Ross Hill, Esther Niemi, Harry Eaton, Mary and Harry Martinsen, George Birch, Ray and Pat Cook. Winners of the North Shore John Labatt trophy with 12 teams entered from Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Mani- touwadge, Red Rock and Nipi- gon, were presented with the trophy and handsome engraved trays. Anther honor to Schrei- ber in this event was Mary Martinsen winning both the high single with 336 and the high four games with 883. Following the dinner the members enjoyed a social evening. One hundred and seven mothers and daughters attended the annual CGIT banquet held in St. Andrew's United Churck hall in Schreiber. Rev. Gilmore Beatty of North Bay was guest speaker. DAVID SMITH NEW CPTA PRESIDENT David E. Smith was elected president of the Catholic Par- ent - Teachets Association at their regular May. meeting re- cently. Other new officers elected in- clude Mrs. R. B. Spadoni, vice- president; Mrs. John Maclsaac, Secretary; Mrs. Pat Bolan, treasurer, and Antony Speziale, parent-teacher counsellor, . Oth- er counsellors are to be appoint- ed later. Carl LeBlane spoke on the Alcoholics Anonymous organtiza- tion. Plans were started for the tabloid field day for grades 4-7 and a picnic for grades 1-3. It wis decided-to purchase a new table for the school kitchen. The camera draw was post- poned until June 16. Boyer Gagnon of Fort William spent the weekend Mr. and Mrs. George Lehto and daughter Doris leave June 1 for a long holiday to visit rela- tives in Finland. They will also visit England and Norway. Jim Duggan and Miss Gwen Murray, both of Windsor, are visiting Jim's Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Con Duggan. Mr, and Mrs, Harvey Carmi- chael were in Midland recently to attend the funeral of Har- ' vey's father. Tom Whitton met his sister Mrs, Ada Hillier for the first time in 38 years when Mrs, Hil- lier came to visit him from Birmingham, England last week. Also here were Miss Joan Hillier, and Stanley and Steve Hillier, all of Toronto, with his parents, Mr.and Mrs.J.P.Gagnon. As- sistance for this show was given by Chapples Limited and Glad Motels. The leaders are relieved that a group committee has been organized to assist them. There are eighty cubs with leaders Isabel Perras, Doris Gauthier, Audry and Mike Morgan, Chib Ceb- rario, Sharon Lamoureau, Ray Cook and Gordon' Moorey and eighteen Scouts led by Russell Campbell and Edgar LeBlanc. Next big event is a Cuboree in Manttouwadge on June 4, followed by a Father & Son Banquet June 23. All members of the Centennial Committee are urged to attend a meeting on June 5th at 8 p.m. in the High School Library. Two teams from Marathon and two from Schreiber played a roll-off on May 29th with Ida Krause, Mar Martinsen, Bern Jacomb, Blanche Garlick, Marion Prescott and Gina Smith of Schreiber taking first place. Jean Tremblay (Sch.) got Hi-Single (262), M.Forsberg of Marathon Hi-Triple (608) and Rena Lee (Mara.) had low. Myra Smilsky and H.Martin- sen were scorekeepers. M.Hannam, B.Scott and M.
