Photo |.McCuaig INTER-CLUB BONSPIEL WON BY LEBLANC RINK The first event in the annual Inter-Club bonspiel of the Kinsmen and Lions' Clubs was won by Carl LeBlanc's rink with Peter A.Speziale, Brenda Har- per and Val O'Keefe. Burton Phillips won the second event with Ralph Hewson, Fay Thorsteinson and Sharon Webb. The program was arranged by Frankie Cataford and during the day a buffet lunch of coffee and sandwiches was continuously ready for the curlers. MEETING HELD TO DISCUSS CENTENNIAL Representatives of various organizations in town met recently in the High School to discuss a cen- tennial celebration for Schreiber. Among the sug- gestions considered were a meeting place for senior citizens and a Schreiber re-union on July 1, 2 and 3 of Centennial year. Those attending were to take back these and other ideas for approval to the groups they represented and bring back their decision to a meeting in April. There were twenty-six present with Mrs.Lester McCuaig chairing the meeting. MARCH OF DIMES COLLECTION $406.08 Four hundred and six dollars and sixty-eight cents was collected for the March of Dimes in Schreiber by the forty-one canvassers. Mrs.J.R.Rummery was chairman for the canvass and the captains were Mesdames D'Arcy McGuire, Russell Macadam, Bill Mullins, J.D.Bryson and Oscar Niemi. LOCAL GIRLS DONATE TO ARTIFICIAL ICE FUND Sixty-eight dollars was presented to Jack Bryson, manager of the Schreiber Arena, by Shirley Winters and Nancie Spillane at their recent figure skating show. The girls raised the money by giving figure skating lessons and by collecting at their show and donated it to the Artificial Ice Fund. Theme of the show this year was Past and Present, the comparison shown in the following numbers:- Solo - Flapper Girl, by Susan Johnson, with a bevy of paper dolls as a background--Arlene Krause, Debbie Jones, Laura Carmichael, Shelly Souliere, Vicky Krause , Valerie Rigelsford, Wendy Jones, Pam Nesbitt, Dianna Madge, Carolyn Vanderkam, Holly Smith, Joan Richardson, Judy Davis, and Patty Nesbitt. Linda Lidkea soloed in an Old Fashioned Girl. A Cowboy and Indians number introduced Pamela Winters, Barbara Duffy, Lynn Drake, Debbie Mc- Kenna, Donna Garlick, Debbie Smith, Paul Nygaard and Debbie Wilkinson. Nancie Spillane gave Indian Princess as a solo followed by Laura Carmichael in The Busy Bees. Square Dancers were Shirley Winters, Nancie Spillane, Linda Lidkea, Joyce Cluett, Debbie Lid- kea, Judy Richardson, W endy Pitkanen, Edith Relph, Linda Pitkanen and Jane Bailey. A Waltz Duet was given by Susan Johnson and Janice Cluett. Debbie Lidkea danced a Ballerina solo and Janice Cluett did a Calypso Beat number.
