ANNUAL REPORTS PRESENTED AT MEETING The annual meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Guides and Brownies was held Monday evening on January 24th in the Community Church Hall. Mrs. J.Lang chaired the meeting and minutes and cor- respondence were read by Mrs. K.Turner. Mrs. A. Farrow gave the Treasurer's report. Various convenors presenting their annual reports included Mrs. J.Mikus, past district commissioner, Mrs.Lang, Mrs.Turner, Mrs.Farrow, Mrs.C .Simmer (who reported that 104 badges were passed in 1965), Mrs. A.Ziegleman, Mrs. Althea Fraser, Mrs.R. Cotton, Mrs.E.Kettle, Mrs. H.Heibert, Mrs. J. Brooks and Brownie Ist Pack Mrs. R.Fournier, 2nd Pack Miss E.Long, 3rd Pack Mrs. V.Thompson, Ist Guide Company Mrs. J.Falzetta and 2nd Guide Company Mrs.C .Brant. Chairman Mrs.Lang stressed that Guide:Leaders will'be needed for Septemb er 1966. Ladies Auxil- iary dues of $1.00 can be paid to Mrs .Farrow. Dates of the Brownie and Guide Mother and Daughter Banquets are to be announced later. The C.W.L. and Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Church will alternate in catering for these affairs. There will be a Church Parade on February 20th. Mrs. A.Mikus, L.A.Representative to the Centen- nial Committee, gave a report and elaborated on the proposed projects and why they were rejected by the Provincial Centennial Act. A full weekend of activities is planned with a Muk=-luk Mardis Gras Dance on Friday, an Art Club display, speed skating races, figure skat- ing display, novelty events, father and son hockey game and women's broomball game. On Saturday a full day of events is also planned with a Snow Festival Float Parade, Jr.Curling Bonspiel, bowling tournament, tea and bridge for the women. In the evening an oldtimers' hockey game will be featured, judging of the beard contest, coronation of Miss Snow Queen, a performance of the Terrace Bay Mens' Chorus also a Teen Dance. On Sunday a weigh-in will be conducted to pick the largest fish in all categories and Ice Sculp- ture will be judged. Among the many outdoor events will be a Mayor and Reeves challenge race on snowshoes and ski-doo racing. There will be a log-throwing and splitting contest, flour packing contest, Tug-O-War and canoe packing. A warm welcome awaits everyone - there's fun for the whole family. See you there!
