Photo by 1.McCuaig Mrs.Leonard O'Brien entertained for her daughter Mary Lynne's 7th birthday inviting the following small guests: Tana and Cora Morrow, Mary Jo Ryan, Michelle Bedard, Gord and Doug Ross, Kevin, Gail and Donna Bottomley, Tina Cebrario, Alda and Maxine Holland, Linda Levigne, Karen Lamoreaux, Laura Carmichael, Joan and Sandra Richardson, Pam and Jane Duggan, Leslie, Lee Ann and Laurie Mc- Bride, Clyde Gordon. The big cake was made by Mrs.Rene Bedard and Mary Lynne's sister Lenore and Mary McGrath assisted Mrs.O'Brien in serving. Mrs. W.G.Furlonger, R.N. and Mrs.N.A.Mc- Cuaig, secretary of the East Thunder Bay TB Assoc. were in White River on Monday to skin test pupils in the Public and separate schools. Mrs.Hal Frommann entertained at a dinner party in honor of her daughter Monica's |2th birthday, inviting the following guests--Sharon Smith, Debby Lidkea, Beverly Baynes, Wendy Pitkanen, Janet and Joyce Cluett and Beverley Hamilton. Sylvia Harness was home for the weekend bringing three classmates from the McKellar Hospital School of Nursing with her, Dorothy Long, Barbara Icton and Linda Stay. Carol Dimmery entertained all of grade 8 in the public school in honor of Lynn Jolicoeur before she left for her new home in Fort William. On behalf of the others Carol presented Lynn with a sweater, necklace and toilet accessories as a farewell gift. Lynn was also entertained by the Girls' Auxiliary of St.John's Anglican Church at a dinner party when she was presented with a birthstone ring. The officers of the Schreiber CPR Credit Union held their annual dinner, with their ladies, in the Mayfair Dining Room on Wednesday evening. Fol- lowing theymeal a card social was enjoyed. Mrs .Dwight Marshall was given a farewell party by sixty-five friends who met in her mother's home-- Mrs . Joe Campbell--on Tuesday evening. On their behalf Mrs. Bill Campbell presented a living room clock and money corsage with their good wishes for happiness in her new home in Fort William. November 4, 1965 Mrs .Campbell and Mrs.Don Souliere who were the joint hostesses, were assisted in serving lunch by Mesdames Bill Gerow, Bob Campbell, Russell Weaver and Miss Mary Ellen Gerow with Mrs. David McLellan and Charlie Pearson replenishing. Mrs.N.S.Jolicoeur was given a surprise farewell party by a group of friends who met in Mrs. Earl Glad's home on Monday evening. Old fashioned games were played and, on behalf of the others, Mrs.Harold Gellert presented a money tree in token of their good wishes. Those present included Mesdames Shirley Mikus (Terrace Bay), Dorothy Lucas, Bob Ellicott, Fred Harness, Bill Glad, San. Chicoine, Ray Sisson, Art Huard, Innes West, Bill Furlonger, Lester McCuaig, Herb Gellert, Norman Glad, Earl Holmes, Jim Gray, Bill Cocks, Russell Campbell, Gabe Gauthier and Mrs.Tim Glad. Mr.and Mrs. Keith Caldwell and daughter Kathie spent the weekend visiting members of the Stewart family here enroute to a new home in B.C. Mrs.Dorothy Lucas of Plymouth, England, is the guest of her brother Bob Ellicott and his family. RUBY REBEKAH LODGE MEETS Mrs.Mary Husband, N.G., and Mrs. Bern Whent, V.G., presided for the regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge. The committee for the raising of funds for the annual Youth Pilgrimage to the United Nations announced they are holding a quilt raffle. Members were asked to bring a guest for a baking auction which will be held at the end of the next regular meeting. A correction is made on the date of the annual New Officers tea--it will be held on November 3rd. Following the meeting Mrs.Jean Fisher's comm- ittee ran a penny auction hour. Schreiber Kinsmen are planning a monster auction sale to be held in the Arena. Anyone having household goods, good used clothes or anything useful is asked to call IIW, 146, I61M, 223 or 593 and the items will be picked up. All proceeds are for service work. The sale will be held within two weeks. A letter was recently received by the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber from Mrs.Rena McAdam, public health nurse, stating that the audiometer purchased by the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber one year ago has been put to good use. She reported that all Schreiber schools were visited and that a total of 6l9 pupils were tested of which number 27 were detected with hearing defects.
