This course covered the job of the choirmaster or choral group leader, a simple method to enable leaders to teach the members to read music, breathing, voice production and tone control, the art of direction and a question and answer period Both courses were held from Friday to Sunday in the Recreation Centre. LADIES AUXILIARY MEETS Mrs. Kay Graham chaired the meeting Mon day when the afternoon group of the Ladies Auxiliary met in the Community Church. Mrs. Lil Harris read the minutes and correspon- dence. The Worship was taken by Mrs. Lois McCausland and Mrs. Isobel Ferrier accom- panied the opening hymn. During the ;work period seventeen boxes were packed for shipment to the Crippled Civilians in Toronto and three for the Chil- drens Aid Society. Members agreed to do- nate to the children's table for the Christmas Bazaar. A special teatime guest was Rev. Arthur Lavender, former minister of the church, and a very pleasant visit was enjoyed while lunch was served by Mesdames Graham and Harris. CATHOLIC GIRLS CLUB MEETS The mid-October meeting of the Catholic Girls' Club was held October 17 in St. Mar- tin's Parish Hall. The president, Diane Campbell, opened the meeting with the pray - er for teenagers. The treasurer's report was read and at the business portion of the meeting suggestions were considered for ays of raising money. Ideas for games to be held at the Membership Tea on Nov. 7th were discussed. The meeting concluded with a lively dis - cussion on the topic of the Legion of Decency for movies. Many views were taken. Weid, Wawa, Mike Kuruliak, Red Rock, John Globensky Wawa and F.Sechesky, Terrace Bay. Seated are Ron Hube, elected president, from Man- itouwadge, Doris McInnis of Nipigon and Bill Spring, elected Sec. Treasurer, of Mar- athon. A meeting of the North Shore Minor Hock- ey Association was held at Terrace Bay Recreation Centre last Sunday afternoon. Delegates were present from Wawa, Mani- touwadge, Marathon, Terrace Bay, Red Rock and Nipigon. Wawa has been accepted to enter teams in the No. Shore Minor Hockey League. The North Shore now has been divided into two zones:~ Eastern Zone - Wawa, Manitouwadg¢ White River and Marathon. Western Zone - Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Red Rock and Nipigon.' Zone winners in each classifica- tion of hockey will play-off for the North Shore Championships. All minor hockey playing cards must be in the hands of the Secretary, registered by February 5. Each hoekey club will be allow- ed seventeen playing cards, including the spare goal keeper. Minor Hockey insurance is available to all hockey associations and further informa - tion can be obtained from Arnold Southern, Sec. Treasurer of the Thunder Bay Amateur Hockey Association. The Western Division of the No. Shore Min or Hockey League will hold their next meet- ing at Grand River. The Chairman of this division is Bill Stefurak, Schreiber and Mike Kuryuliah of Red Rock is the Secretary.
