AFTERNOON GROUP LADIES AUXILIARY MEETS Mrs. Lois McCausland was hostess at her summer home on Terrace Beach, as the Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church opene their fall meetings with a Pot Luck Supper. Grace was pronounced by Mrs. Elsie Ostling. Mrs. Kay Graham presided over the meeting with Mrs. Lil Harris giving the minutes and financial state ment. Outlining their fall projects, the ladies deci- . ded to complete layettes for the Childrens' Aid Society and, at the next meeting, would pack boxes for Crippled Civilians, Toronto. Members were re- minded to continue saving Canada Packers labels and used stamps. These ar given to Mrs. Jones and sent to help support the leper colony. She reports the stamps collected in this district have already pur- chased several beds. The ladies concluded the afternoon with a stroll on the beautiful beach. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEET The Executive Committee of the Women of the Moose held their meeting prior to the regular business meeting Wednesday evening in the Moose Home. Senior Regent Marjorie Dejonghe presided with Re- corder Barbara Dejonghe reading minutes and corres- pondence of interest. Social Service Chairman Ann Todesco requested used clothing particularly in age eight to ten bracket These can be brought to next meeting. Senior Regent Marjorie Dejonghe and Graduate Regent Ann Didura were elected to go to the Ottawa Conference, October 8th to 10th. Helen Almos vol- unteered to convene the Golf Club Banquet Oct.23. The meeting adjourned with lunch served by Pub- licity Chairman Armie Cole and her committee. Theresa Gaudet won the Share the Wealth draw. John Demecha, who left at the beginning of Sep- tember for Kamloops, B.C., was followed by his wife Gertrude and son Victor this weekend. Prior to John's departure, the Demechas held Open House, bidding farewell to their many friends in Terrace Bay.} ~ buya On Friday afternoon the staff of Terrace Bay Motor Hotel held a coffee party for Gertrude in the Hotel, presenting her with many tokens of remembrance. The Local Association to Guides and Brownies will meet Monday evening, September 27 at 8 o' clock at the home of Mrs.Hilda Hiebert, 35 Pine Crescent. A representative from each Pack and Company is requested to attend. Girls who have reached their 8th birthday are el- igible to join Brownies. To register please phone Mrs .lrene Kettle at 3526. THE NEWS Telephone 825- 3588 September 23, 1965 Kay and John Jeanneret have left Terrace Bay to make their home in Toronto. Prior to leaving they were entertained at many family dinners as they said their good-byes to friends of long standing. A stag was held for John at the Moose Hall when Master of Ceremonies Ken Weppler presented him with a purse on behalf of his co-workers. Kay's Bridge Club held a dinner at the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, followed by an evening of Bridge at the home of Mrs.Vera Kennedy. Members of the Club presented her with a gift of Blue Mountain Pottery and their best wishes. The girls of the Mill Office Staff also presented Kay with a farewell gift before she department. Georgina and Joe Heenan held a cocktail hour for Kay and John, attended by the accounting Department and their wives. Irene Uzicanin and Bonnie Hamilton have regis- tered at Fort William Collegiate for the coming term. Audrey and John Verscheure of Winnipeg were weekend guests of the Reg Cottons. Albert Cadieux Jr., is enrolled at St.Joseph's Highschool in Ottawa for this year.
