Half Mile, boys - Norman Bottomley, Ron Turner of Marathon and Stanley Spadoni. Judges for the' baby show were Mrs.Gino Caccamo and Mrs .Bill Woodrow, both nurses. Mrs.Bob Gray assisted. Seventeen babies were entered and prizes went to Judy McBride, Shanon Riley, Maurice Fer- land, Frankie Costa, Judy Godin, Tracy Jolicoeur, Gordon Nicol, Angelique Woods, Catherine Camp- bell, Mark Britten and Glen Holland. The twenty-five silver dollar draw was won by Mrs. Archie McColeman and the Meteor car by Michael Chepelski of Terrace Bay. Children in the parade were supplied with flags and balloons and feasted on quantities of watermelon and chocolate b ars, free treats. A fiesta air was added by the aroma and delicious taste of the wieners and hamburgers, toasted buns and coffee. Cabbage rolls were sold as short orders. The golf clubs were won by Michael McGrath, the draw made at the dance in the evening. One of the most amusing events was a blueberry | pie eating contest, the twenty-four boys and girls who entered proving that pie can be eaten without the use of utensils or hands. The winners, cheered on by laughing spectators, were Norman Bottomley and Carolyn Fadden. Mrs.H.P.Bourguignon is in Fort William for medi- cal attention. Mr .and Mrs .Russell Skinner are holidaying with their son Scott and his family in Victoria, B.C. Mr .and Mrs .Ron McBride are visiting in Ansonville and will bring home their children who have been staying with Mrs.McBride's parents there. Lionel Bourguignon left for Montreal. From there he will fly to France for his vacation. Mr .and Mrs.Harvey McCanna and family are holi- daying in Montreal . Georgette LeBlanc, daughter of Mr.and Mrs.Arthur LeBlanc is the Schreiber High School student selected to attend the Federal-Provincial Youth Travel progra carried on by the Dept.of Education. She leaves on August |6 and returns on the 27th. The group will travel by train in special coaches to Red Deer and from there to Rocky Mountain House in Alberta by bus. Mr.and Mrs.Alex Power have had the latter's sister and husband, Mr.and Mrs.L .Agnew and family, from Beaconsfield, Quebec, visiting them, also Mr.and Mrs.J.J.Stack of Asquith, Man. and Mr.and Mrs. Gordon Stack of Toronto--cousins of Mr.Power.
