Miss Marilyn Pearson of the Nipigon Hospital staff is vacationing with her parents, Mr.and Mrs .Charles Pearson. Mr .& Mrs.Norman Donahue and family of Fort William spent a week with Mr.and Mrs.Norman Glad the two wives being sisters. Muriel Nesbitt left for Camp Couchiching to take a two week leadership course. Mrs. Ted Wilson is spending the rest of the summer with relatives in Vancouver. Mrs.Leroy Briggs (Toots Gerow) of Spokane, Wash. _and Mrs.Perry Hewson (Doris Gerow) of Toronto are visiting the Gerow family members here. Mrs. Douglas May had her mother, Mrs.Cecil Hives and her nephew, Steven Hives of Bracebridge visiting her last week. Mrs.Garnet Jewell of Windsor is visiting her par- ents, Mrcand Mrs .Rene Bedard. Donna Eaton will spend the summer in Toronto. Susan Kragero is visiting her sister, Miss Sandy Kragero, who has been teaching in Toronto the past year. Sandy will be home later for a vacation. John Cosgrove, Leon Verdoni, Bill Scott, Norman Boon and Barry Walsh attended four ball games in Milwaukee recently. Mr.and Mrs.Austin Cosgrove have their daughter Mary (Mrs.Harold Sylvan), her husband and son Richard, of Calgary home for a visit. D'Arcy Furlonger, Russell Nesbitt, Brian Webb and Jim Gellert are with the CPR for the summer. Home for the summer are; Brock Kirkpatrick from Queen's University is working in the Mill at Terrace Bay, Bruce Gordon from United Church College is with the CPR} Harold Shack from Lakehead Teacher's College; John Cosgrove from Resurrection College in Kitchener is in the Mill also; Cheryl Everitt from McGill University. Allan Holmes of United College in Winnipeg is working in the city for the summer. Bill Scott, attending St.Paul's College in Winnipeg, is working in Terrace Bay Mill. Mr .and Mrs .lgnatius McGrath of Eganville are the guests of Mr.and Mrs.Ambrose McGrath. HOLY ANGELS GRADUATION CEREMONY The following students graduated from Holy Angels' Separate School last week in a special evening cere- mony--Colleen Maclsaac, Suzanne Chicoine, Maril- lyn Cook, Mary Speziale, Brenda Lalonde, Barbara Stefurak, Colleen Cosgrove, Cathy LeBlanc, Arlene Connelly, Mary McGrath, Marie Pasqualino, Cathy Bolan, Sandra Ross, Teresa LeBlanc, Sharon O'Brien, June Small, Geratd McGrath, Cosimo Commisso, Ron Fummerton, Larry Kusik, D'Arcy Moorey, Stan- ley Spadoni--Honor students--Barbara Stefurak, Marilyn Cook and Gerard McGrath. i Honor awards for highest standing went to Kelly McParland, Patricia McGrath and Kevin Chicquer, Brenda Cebrario, Cathy Cocks, Ronnie Chicoine, Teddy Ross, Michael Spadoni, Dale Sisson and Ger- ard McGrath. Most deserving student awards went to Michael Stortini, Jane Tremblay, Jean M.Guadet, Michael Anderson, Sylvia Speziale, Gaetanne Chicoine, Kevin Mullins, Kevin Scott, Roseanne Speziale, Elda Holland, Mark Stokes, Anne Needham, Robert Ryan, Rita Pellagrino, Tony Commisso, Lola Scott, Pat McParland, Rosemary McParland, Stanley Spa- doni, and Marilyn Cook. Michael Thrower, Rhonda Campbell, Michael Jacques, Denis Morin, Linda Huard, Darlene Desmoulin, Roy Huard, Bob Webb and Sandra Ross received awards for most improve- ment and the Knights of Columbus Scholarship went to Grade 8 Student Gerard McGrath. The C.P.T.A. placque for most progress went to Sandra Ross while Susanne Chicoine, Marilyn Cook and Gerard Mc - Grath received awards for English-Oral speaking. The students presented a farewell gift to Rev. Sister Frances Joseph, school principal, who is leav- ing to teach in North Bay. In a brief programme the school choir and the boy's choir sang. Tributes were paid to the staff, school board, CPTA, Catholic Women's League, Father Cano and parents, by various students. The girl's choir sang a three-part song and the last will and testament of the graduates, which always deligh ts the audience as it reveals secret traits of certain students, was read by Marilyn Cook and Barbara Stefurak . In his address Father Cano admonished parents to consider that the foundation for a child's life and character is built in the home. It may be added to by the Church and teachers but responsibility and re- sults lies squarely with the parents.
