VISITS TERRACE BAY mroute home to Toronto from a trip to Hud- sons Bay where he was pursuing his geological hobby, famous pianist Glen Gould rented a car at the Lakehead and made the trip to Terrace Bay. As a guest at Terrace Bay Motor Hotel he relaxed for two days, enjoying tramps in the bush and complete rest. Two of many bus tours scheduled to stop here this summer also checked in last week at the Hotel. One tour was sponsored by the Toledo Health and Retiree Centre and the other was a Triple A Tour. Mr. N.K.Manning, Senior Public Relations Officer of Ontario Hydro, Toronto office, and Mr. W.J.Ransome, area Public Relations Officer, Port Arthur, were in Terrace Bay last week to present to Hydro employees and invited guests a film on Hydro's Annual Re- port and to introduce and explain Hydrots new symbol, a striking red, orange and white design which will shortly begin appearing on many Hydro items. Miss Denise Roy and Mr. Johan Terpstra were guests of honor in the home of Mrs. J.Hale last week when members of St.Martin's Church Choir (Sr.) and their husbands, gathered to present a' combined farewell and wedding gift and to wish them well in the future. Enroute they will remain in Fort William to attend the marriage of her daughter Maryellen to Mr. Ken Lammi early in July. Before leaving Inez has been wished fond farewells by many of her friends. Among 'these Gertrude Soughton entertained at an afternoon tea when Inez received a gift of china. She received a subscription to the local News from members of 'ier Bowling team when they held a dinner at Hotel Terrace. Last Wednesday afternoon, Althea Fraser, Alice Farrow and Stella Brown honored Inez at a Come and Go Tea at the home of Mrs. Brown. Many of her friends and neighbors said their farewells with Bert Duncan making the presentation of a crystal vase and Wedge- wood ashtray on behalf of the group. Prior to his departure the Millwright Crew held a party at the Reynolds home, presenting Art with a wallet. Vincent Calder was eight years of age recently and in his honor an outside barbecue was held. The children also played games and went home with treats, A party was held for Steven Chapman on June 19th to mark his seventh birthday, Game and birthday cake were enjoyed and favors dis tributed to all. On Wednesday afternoon a picnic party at - the Mouth of the River was held for Gregory Turner who was seven years old. Seventeen children joined the Beach fun and roast and favors were given. Mr.% Mrs.Ron Case and family of Hamilton are visiting Clara and Fred Gould this week.
