Mrs.Lois Downey with her family, left Terrace Bay Sunday to join her husband Russ in McKinley- ville, Calif. where they will make their home. Prior to leaving Lois was the guest of honor at a Farewell party held in the Community Church by hos- tesses Evelyn Falzetta and Helen Brooks. On be- half of her many friends a gift of luggage and purse was presented by Ollie Chapman and Shirley Mikus read a poem about Lois, composed for the occasion by Jack Todd. Lois, who had worked for many years with the Girl Guides in Terrace Bay, was a guest last week at their spring cook-out and, on be- half of the First Guide Company of Terrace Bay, Guide Carol Gaudet presented her with a crystal salad bowl . Before Russ Downey left for California, he too was entertained by his friends and co-workers when a Stag was held in the Curling Club Lounge. Russ was presented with a purse and poster complete with: autographs . The Downey family, Pat, Jim, Beth, Joanne, Judy and Sheila were individually entertained and bid farewell by their friends and classmates, receiving mementos'of Terrace Bay. Ron Downey will join his fami ly in the Fall. BRIDE-ELECT HONORED . Welcomed into the Community Church Hall by the wedding march, the guest of honor, Ainsley Middaug was seated beneath gaily decorated balloons and streamers Wednesday evening when a Bridal Shower was held by her many friends. Games entertained the guests with winners being Mrs .Donna Lerner and Mrs.Althea Fraser. A sing- song was accompanied at the piano by Mrs . Margaret Simmer who continued to play background music as the many lovely gifts were opened. Presenting the trays of gifts was Lois Ann Fraser with Holly Berndt- sson and Jean Stuart assisting the bride-elect. The tea table, covered with an ecru lace cloth, was centred with a thre tier mock wedding cake, decorated by Win McKechnie, flanked by, white ,
