E.J.Morrill is visiting his son, Dr.Stanley Morrill and family in Vancouver. Mr.and Mrs.Rod O'Driscoll and family have re- turned home to Thompson, Man., after visiting her parents, Mr.and Mrs.John Spillane. Mrs.J.Winters was in Pt.Arthur attending the fun- eral of Mrs.Carlisle. Mr.and Mrs.H.McCanna were called to Ft.William by the illness of the latter's father, Alex Lamb. Mrs.P.J.LeBlanc is in Terrace Bay Hospital . Pepi Eusebi has gone to Stratford to work. While Mr.and Mrs.Ross Hill were in Bergen Op Zoom, Holland, they visited the grave of Corp.Lesley Gerow who was killed in action there. _Dr.McPherson and Miss Paige of the Pt. Arthur Health Unit were in town on business recently. UCW HOLD SUCCESSFUL TEA-BAZAAR Mrs.Fraser Muldrew received at the Christmas tea- bazaar of the United Church Women on Saturday in the Town Hall. The bazaar counter, piled high with plain and fancy handwork, was attended by Mrs. F. Macadam, Mrs.O.Niemi, Mrs.R.Macadam and Mrs. J.Rattray. Mrs. N.Smith and Mrs.W.Clemens were in charge of the Touch-and-take booth and candy and baking were sold by Mrs.A.Gordon and Mrs.G. Riley, while Mrs. H.Gellert, Mrs.O.Laine and Mrs. V.Weaver presided over the fishpond. The tea tables were served by Mrs.Bruce Simon and the Misses Muriel Nesbitt, Mary Ellen Gerow, Sandra Clemens, Brenda Lidkea, Joan O'Neil, Bea McBride, Daryl Lynn Weaver, Charlotte Ross and Mrs. John Spillane. The kitchen committee were Mesdames Bill Gerow, Bill Kinney, Ken Williamson, Henry Miller, Ivor Jacomb and Roy Anderson. Mrs. Bill Thrower was cashier . The decision for free parking during the Christ- mas holiday season, Council 's annual goodwill gesture, was held over until the December meeting. Mr .Guina's suggestion that car stickers giving free parking to visitors was considered with approval and information on cost, etc., will be sought. Council were also concerned about the chlorination plant and will urge that the instructor from Winnipeg come as soon as possible to overhaul the plant and instruct town employee on its operation. Due to heavy agenda this was a four hour meeting. C.W.L. PLANS DEC .gRD TEA AND BAZAAR The Catholic Women's League at their regular meeting set a Dec. 3 date for their Christmas bazaar and tea from 2:30-5 p.m. It was decided that in future no kitchen equipment will be rented. Mrs. Roly Martin and Mrs. Sanford Chicoine agreed to convene a wedding breakfast Nov. 28. Mrs. R. B. Spadoni will con- vene the father and son ban- quet Nov. 25. Five dollars a mmnth was do- nated to supplies for the pre- school age children's church school. Mrs. Harry Shack, girls' club director, reported) one new member enrolled. Christmas card delivery will be completed within the next two weeks. Mrs. M. J. McGrath reported the par- ish library will soon be ready for use in the Guild hall. Mrs, Bill Mullins, radio and TV, said ratings of shows could be obtained from her. Mrs. Alex Furyk reported member- ship of 215, including five hon- orary members and seven new ones. Subscribing to the league magazine are 115. Mrs. Stanley Kusik presided for the meeting. Rev. F. M. Muldrew showed travel films. Lunch was served by Mrs. Charlie Pearson's committee. Booth Planned Lenore O'Brien, presiding at a meeting of Catholic Girls' club Nov. 8, urged members to do extra study in preparation for their tests in first aid next week, REBEKAH LODGE MEETS She reminded them of the CWL tea and bazaar where the club have a booth, asking those who cannot contribute hand- work to bring baking. Estelle Chicoine was welcomed as a few member, Mrs. Agnes Sinkins agreed to convene the New Officers' Tea of Ruby Rebekah Lodge on November 8th, at their regular meeting on November 11th. Grant Chambers, secretary of the Youth Pilgrimage Project sent application forms and details on the sub- ject. All members interested in taking part in the Un- known Friend program were asked to contact Mrs. Helen Wallace before the next meeting on Nov.25. ollowing this meeting a card party will be held when members may bring guests and Mrs.Florence When will be convenor, assisted by Mrs.Chris Morris.
