4 + VoL.7, No.46 KIMBERLY-CLARK MILL WINS MAJOR SAFETY AWARD At the National Safety Congress held in Chicago October 28th, the Paper Industry Manage- ment Association presented the Edward Benton Fritz Memorial Trophy for 1963 to the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company, Limited Mill at Terrace Bay, Ontario. This is the highest safety award than can be received by a pulp and paper mill in their industry. During 1963 the employees of the Terrace Bay Mill worked more than 1,300,000 man hours without experiencing a disabling injury. -Since the mill started operations in 1948 the employees have worked more than 2I million fatality-free man hours for an injury frequency rate of 3.5. This low accident record , together with the record established in 1963, was the reason the Kimb erly-Clark Terrace Bay Mill was selected from among the 337 pulp and paper mills in North America to receive this major safety award.
