Minutes by the Secretary-Clerk, W.F. Strutt were read and approved. The resignation of Paul Milkovich as Police Con- stable, effective 12 noon, July 29, 1964 was read to Council . A bid of $750 per month for the collection of gar- bage in Terrace Bay was submitted by a Marathon contractor. This was in excess of the present service and, as there was no suggestion of discontinuation of this service, the bid was not considered. Following a request by the Recreation Committee, consideration had been given to the fact that the Recreation Centre is a non-profit organization and Kimb erly-Clark Corporation thereby offered a flat rate of Five Thousand Dollars a year or $467. per month for the supplying of steam heat to the Centre. In the July report from the Fire Department, Chief Hofland detailed the fire July 24 at 462 Princess Avenue when the house had been struck by lightning. He reported the arrival of the new fire hose and re- quested supplies for the schools for Fire Prevention Week. The Police Department's report from Constable Warfield listed all investigations and charges laid. The theft of an automobile from a local resident was }, reported and returned within a few days by the O.P.F.. O.P.P. The new dog catcher had been contacted and ad- vised all possible assistance would be given by the Department. No serious difficulties had been en- countered during the busy Derby weekend, despite | the fact the force then consisted of one Constable. Accounts for the month of July were carefully { perused and discussed before passing for payment the following: Public Lib rary $300.40, Hydro $5,242. Township $17,196.01, Snack Bar $5,882.79 and i Recreation $6,093.69. Councillor Cavanaugh was 1 informed upon request that both Mr.Ward and Mr. Gamble of the Recreation staff were bonded. They questioned the standing and establishment of the Snack bar again considering the previously requested | dishwasher. This will be approved when the finan- cial report so indicates. § Aspecial meeting of Council was scheduled for Monday, August 17 at 4:30 to consider the appli- cations for Police Constable, also the Tenders re- i ceived for renovations to the Municipal Offices.
