NEWS LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223, held their last meeting of the season be- fore the summer recess, Sunday evening in the Legio Hall. President, Doris Marcella, chaired the meet- ing with minutes read by Secretary Jean Fisher and the financial statement by Treasurer Stella Gusul . Mrs .Cora Bajkiewicz was presented with her Past President's pin and thanked for her work of the pre- vious year. The twenty dollar voucher was won by Marilyn Benko. Lunch was served at the close of the meeting ILLINOIS COUPLE SUDDENLY PROMINENT As President of the Terrace Bay Chamber of Com- merce, Neil Cornthwaite greeted Mr.and Mrs .Robt . Dame and family of Freeport, IIl., on Sunday and, in their brief stop-over, showed them points of interest in Terrace Bay. The Dame family found themselves suddenly pro- minent as they became the millionth car to cross the Soo bridge as Sault Ste.Marie. During their three- day stay in Sault Ste.Marie they were the guests of the Chamber of Commerce, Civic and business organ izations, receiving a royal welcome to mark the memorable occasion. The four survivors of a well-known district family (the Hogg Family), held a re-union recently at the home of Mr.and Mrs.Gerry Coons. The group in- cluded Mrs.W.E.Coons (the former Mary Hogg) - Mrs .Ethel Glen (the former Ethel Hogg) - Mrs.Geo. Moore (the former Margaret Hogg) and Neil Hogg of Port Arthur. BLOOD DONORS CLINIC - AUGUST 17TH On August 17th the Red Cross will set up a blood donor clinic in. the Terrace Bay Highschool. The hours are from 2-5 and 6.30-9.30. The clinic has been organized by the Local Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society. Registration, rest, bed attendance and coffee are being looked after by ladies of the community. NOTICE RE CLOSING HOURS - COSTA'S STORE - SCHREIBER ONLY STORE HOURS - 8.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. OPEN - 1.30 to 5.30 P.M. every day ex- cept Wednesday when hours are from 8.30 to 12.30 only.
