A.S.Smith, Mrs. McGuire's father, and Russell Ward, both of St.Joseph's Island, were here last week visiting Mr.and Mrs. D'Arcy McGuire. Mrs.L.R.McCuaig was in Pt.Arthur on Tuesday to attend the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Bi- cutturism. ~ N.A.McCuaig left on Friday to sing in Winnipeg with the Terrace Bay Men's Choir. The Legion Money Doll was won by Mrs.W.G. Furlonger, the ticket drawn by Mrs. H.Shack at the Catholic Girls' Club tea on Saturday afternoon. Mrs .E.Gerow has gone to Spokane, Wash., where she will attend her granddaughter, Sharon Briggs' wedding. Mr .and Mrs.Mel Davis of Ottawa and Mrs.Henry Davis of Ft.William are visiting the Bill Lidkea and Ken Davis families here. Barbara Huard celebrated her 4th birthday on Sat- urday with the enthusiastic support of 16 small friends all enjoying the lavish lunch and gaily decorated cake for the occasion. Mr.and Mrs.J.Campbell, grandparents of Danny Miller, are proudly reporting to his friends here that he is one of the Boy Scouts in New Zealand chosen to attend the World Scout Jamboree in the Fiji Islands Linda Lidkea marked her 11th birthday on Saturday with 13 friends invited to enjoy a circus party. The cake, made by Mrs.Bob Wood, Linda's sister, was frosted and decorated with circus trappings and the table favors followed the same theme. Edward Gerow has gone to Toronto to visit Mr. and Mrs.Perry Hewson and family. Mrs.O.B.Fasan, with Jaimie and Diana, has gone to visit her parents in Timmins and Mr .Fasan's parents in South Procupine. McCuaig The C.G.1.T.of St.Andrews United Church held their Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet in the Church Hall with their mothers as guests, as weH as the members of Terrace Bay C.G.I.T. and their mothers. Grace was said by Rev. R.J.S.Inshaw. Toast to the Queen was given by Sharon Jarva who also in- troduced the head table guests who included Rev. Inshaw, Rev.and Mrs.1T.G.Husser, Terrace Bay and Rev.and Mrs.D.F.Muldrew. A toast to the mothers was given by Beverly Phillips with Mrs. N.Ross re=- plying. Following the dinner a singsong was enjoyed by all. Rev. Muldrew showed a series of films on Italy and Switzerland. CATHOLIC GIRLS PRESENT PAGEANT Members of the Catholic Girls Club of Holy Angels Church took part in the Pageant of the Crown ing of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the direction of Rev. J.M.Cano and the Sisters of St. Joseph. Mantell Cosgrove was the Queen, Judy McParland and Colleen Cosgrove were Princesses. Mary-Jo , Ryan, flower girl, carried the crown of red roses on a white satin pillow. During the crowning, the members of the C.G.C. surrounded the shrine of the Blessed Virgin and sang the hymn, Mary, We Crown Thee. All the members of the C.G.C. took part in the Living Rosary prior to the Crowning. FAREWELL PARTY GIVEN ROD MacCUAIG'S Mr.and Mrs.Rod MacCuaig were given a farewell party by their friends in the home of Mr.and Mrs. Harold Gellert when a cheque was presented by the following:- Mr.and Mrs.Herbert Gellert, Mr.and Mrs .Jack Anderson, Mr.and Mrs.Arnold Burns, Mr. and Mrs.Ray Sisson, Mr.and Mrs.Mervyn Perrault and Miss Geraldine McGrath, Mr.and Mrs. Joe Caccamo, Mrs.Ine zMcKevitt and Allan Bourk. During the evening music was provided by Allan Bourke at the piano and Herb Gellert on the guitar. Mr .MacCuaig has gone on to Farnham where he has been transferred by the CPR and Mrs.MacCuaig and the children will join him when the school year ends. Constable Timmermann spoke to the students in Holy Angels' school last week on safety rules. He also dwelt on the importance of keeping trash off the streets, saying that because of Schreiber 's natural beautiful setting, we could make it a place to which visitors would happily return if, in addition, they remembered it as well-kept.
