In introducing Mr.Cottenden, Fire Chief R.Hofland said it seemed to be a habit, but, with gratitude gave the credit to the people of Terrace Bay for their co-opera tion in making it possible. Reiterating the idea this visit was becoming habitual, Mr.Cottenden stated this Municipality had won more awards over the years than any other of the Municipalities. He felt that, despite all the complaints about Northwestern Ontario being a forgotten part of the country with regard to roads, etc., he was very proud to have it acknowledged they had such high ranking Fire Depts. Mr .Cottenden presented the placque and certificate of merit for Honorable Mention in Canadian Munici- palities and a first place in the Province for Class F, population under 2500. This rating was based on competition among 511 entries in Canada and 84 entries in Ontario for Class F. Accepting the award from Mr.Cottenden, Councillor Angus Fraser, Chair- man of the Fire Commission, in turn presented them to Fire Chief Hofland with his congratulations.
