A service to be proud of : TERRACE BAY WINS CARLING ROLL--OFF On Sunday, May 10th, Bright Lights, series winners of Mixed Five Pin, travelled to Marathon to participate in the Carling North Shore Roll-Off. With strong efforts from every member of the team they established a solid 115 pin majority in the first game and increased it to over 200 to capture the Trophy. Members of the team and their good scores were, Ken Kitchen (251), Marie Edmunds (204, 234) Kay MacLeod (216), Bill Moon (207), Dot Billings (244, 218, 219), Lew Edmunds (321). In general it was a solid team ef- fort and Captain Ken Kitchen and his team are to be congratulated. Terrace Bay, as the trophy winner will host the 1965 roll-off next spring. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEETING Due to lack of a quorum for a general meeting President Neil Cornthwaite called a meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce Thursday evening in the Recreation Centre. The article written by Mr.Colborne has been submitted to the Chamber Link for publica- tion. Membership chairman L.Waghorn announced an increase in member- ship to thirty-one. The report was in the form of a letter received by Mr. Hodgkiss from C.H.D.Clark, Fish & Wildlife Branch Chief. Noting it was time for the an- nual tour of the town by the Civic Improvement Committee, the President requested the Secretary issue invitations to Councillors Cavanaugh and Brown to accompany their committee of N.Cornthwaite, L.Crandlemire and J.Commisso. A comprehensive outline on the Centennial Project was given by the President and Councillor Cavanaugh who pointed out that Township Council was requesting the Chamber to collect and edit proposed projects with the view 0 having as much participation by local citizens as possible. The Chamber was to be given a free hand in the method of obtaining these suggestions but the edited results were to be in to the Township Council by June 15. They would then make the final choice and implementation. Named to the committee were I.Marsh, Neil Cornthwaite, Councillor Cavanaugh and J.Commisso as Chairman, A letter of congratulation was to be sent to the Terrace Bay Band on their recent fine program They would be asked to consider the possibility of frequent band concerts in the summer and an offer of assistance to make this a possible reality was to be made. Mr.Cornthwaite advised on a Hospitality Seminar being held i It was decided that the. infor- | mation be sent to local businesses with recom mendations they attend. The next meeting of the Council of the Chamber was scheduled for May 22nd in the Recreation Centre. Council. Correspondence from the Kiwanis Club, and NODA were read and contents noted.
