TOWN OES POT-LUCK SUPPER HELD AT COMMUNITY CHURCH The Ladies Auxiliary held a Pot Luck Supper on May 4th when the C.G.I.T. and their mothers were special guests. Shirley Desrosier said the Grace before eceyone sat down to a delight ful supper. The ©.G.I.T.girls took over the program and Shirley led the worship period and Donna Brown accompanied the hymns, Donna also led an open panel discussion on life of the teen- ager today. The ladies were invited to give their opinions on teenage problems and a lively and enlightening period ensued. With Mrs.Lois Downey as projectionist, a film on re-decorat- ing the home was shown. During this time the ladies and girls kept busy fluffing Mother's Day carnations. The program closed with the ladies joining hands with the girls and sing- ing Taps. Vice President Mrs.Norine Coe chaired the meeting, opening with the Secretary's report and correspondence by Mrs.June Schritt and Treasurer's report by Mrs. Marilyn Chisholm. Convenors reporting were: Sick & Visiting - Mrs.Betty Sweet; Mrs.Helen Farrell - Program, reporting that Mr.W.Colborne would be guest speaker at the June meeting; Property - Mrs. Eva Haughn, Ways & Means - Mrs. Lil Harris, announcing a Card Party would be held June 3rd. A Committee was chosen to go through the Secretary's minutes since 1951 to establish what property may be taken out of the Church on loan. Very Rev. Dean E.A.Gallagher opened with prayer and President Mrs. F.Helmink welcomed the new members. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs.G.Savoy in the absence of Mrs. J.Kenney. A letter was read from the Girl Guides invit- ing the members to the Gold Cord presentation on May 13th. Mrs. D.Kenney read her report on a very successful Fashion Show. Mrs. Helmink asked that aprons for the Bazaar be turned in to Mrs. J.Caccamo.and requested all members to donate a tea towel to the kitchen. She particularly urged all members to attend the Convention in Schreiber. The names of the new standing committees were read and are as follows:- Spiritual - Mrs.G.Savoy, Membership - Mrs.A.Ziegleman - Girl Guide - Mrs.J.Falzetta, Social Action - Mrs.D.Kenney, Publicity - Mrs. W.Sernesky - Education - Mrs.C.Knauff Jr. - Magazines - Mrs.C,Rousseau, Citizenship - Mrs. M.Nicol, Radio & T.V. - Mrs. P. Rochon, Resolutions - Mrs. D.Whalen, Catholic Girls Club - Mrs. H. | Boudreau, Bazaar - Mrs. E.Persson. A door prize was won by Mrs.A.LeBlanc and Bingo and luncheon, served by Mrs. Ziegleman and her committee, concluded the evening. LABATT'S INVITATIONAL BOWLING TOURNAMENT Keep Sunday, May 24, open.
