Mistress of Ceremonies was Guide Velma LeBlanc who performed the introductions. Toast to the Queen was proposed by Linda Fontaine, the Toast to Lady Baden-Powell by Susan Graham. Sharon St. Louis proposed the Toast to the Mothers and her Mother, Mrs. L. St. Louis responded... District Commissioner Mrs. Shirley Mikus introduced the special guests - Mr. R. Wills, Scout Commissioner of Pic River District, Rev. T.G. Husser, Guiders and members of the Girl Guide Association, and their guest speaker, Mrs. F.O. Soughton. Mrs. Soughton gave a wonderful talk to the girls on "What is in a Name". Starting with the selection of names by par- ents, she emphasized the meaning and importance of their name, continuing to that of their town and their country. In thanking her, Mrs. Mikus felt her talk was a real contribution to Guiding. LAYETTES PACKED BY LADIES AUXILIARY Mrs. J. Graham presided Monday when the after- noon branch of the Ladies Auxiliary held their April meeting in the Community Church. The opening hymn was accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. Roberts and Mrs. R. Harris led in worship. The minutes and financial report were given and the President announced that the congregational Pot Luck Supper would be held this Sunday evening at 5.30 . Mrs. McCausland reported the mapl e syrup ordered would be delivered shortly. Two layettes were packed for shipment to the Sal- vation Army. Playing cards, toys and comics will be gathered by members for use at the local Hospital as required. Canada Packer labels were counted and members were urged to turn in any more to Mrs. Harris within the coming week. Labels will continue to be saved for further items.
