N'WESTERN ONTARIO YOUTH CONFERENCE (Cont) Mixer Dances, Decorating, Ceramics, Leathercraft, Parliamentary Procedure and Money=making Projects. This type of training proves of Tremendous value in planning better programmes, and when added to the practical experience gained at the Conference, gives the teenagers some very sound programme knowledge. In addition to the work sessions, the young people enjoyed their socials which took place in the even- ings. Highlight of the Conference, especially for Terrace Bay delegates, was the crowning of Marie Delaronde as Miss Northwestern Ontario Teen Queen for 1964. Marie was selected by a panel of qualified judges over ten other candidates. Judging was based on a three minute speech and a three minute talent number, and included such areas as poise, confidence appearance, dress, hair, smile, voice, carriage, speaking ability and talent. The fact that Marie presented her talent under somewhat adverse condi- tions made her choice even more deserving. Attending the Conference were Molly Harris, Bonnie Long, Marie Delaronde, Fern McLeod, Owen Turner, Henry Gaulin, Bruce Lundberg, Sonny Hel- mink, Dan Schock, Mike Mallais, Ken Wood, Bob Coates and Counsellors E. This is the third tournament held this season, and all have been very successful. It is certain that many more of these will be held in the future. Members who wish to compete in the North Shore Championships at Red Rock on April 26th are urged to register, and to get out to practices. Events for Ladies' Singles, Men's Singles, Ladies' Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles will be held with trophies to the winners of each event.
