HERE AND THERE Rev. and Mrs. T.G.Husser and Donald visit- ed their married daughters at Aylmer during the. Easter vacation, also with his brother and sister in London and friends in Wingham, Ontario. W endy Duncan visited in Ottawa for the _ Easter vacation, stopping in to see her par- ents, Mr.and Mrs. J.Duncan before returning to school in Port Arthur. Last week eighteen girls gathered at the home of Nancy Gould to celebrate her 11th birthday. Games and dancing were enjoyed be- fore a buffet supper served by Mrs.Gould, aided by Mrs. M.Hofland. Before leaving each girl was given a small gift by Mrs.Gould in appreciation of their many kindnesses to Nancy the past five months, Mr.and Mrs. W.F.Colborne and Jane spent the Easter vacation in Toronto, and attended the Ontario Educational Association Conven- tion. Donna and Kenny Anderson of Dryden visited their grandparents, Mr.and Mrs, A,Sinkins during the Easter holidays. Visiting the Sinkins over the past weekend was Mrs.Mary Duguid of Port Arthur. Mrs, D.Ollen-Bittle and children were the guests of her mother in Port Arthur during the holidays. Miss Drena DeGroot spent the holidays in Marathon and Winnipeg. Marilyn Larson travelled to Eagle River to visit her grandparents during the Easter holidays. Mrs. W.Kurylo entertained Sunday afternoon in honor of Curtis Cotton and her son Michael on the occasion of their sixth and eighth birthdays respectively. Games and play were enjoyed before the birthday cake and lunch, leaving for home with balloons and Easter eggs. Diane Campbell spent the holidays visiting her aunts in Rossport and Mr.and Mrs. Peter Levis in Fort William. Mrs. J.Duncan and Cheryl visited with Mrs. E.Harvey in Winnipeg during Easter week. While there Cheryl skated at the Winter Club. Ron Schock is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.Schock before returning to Niagara Falls. Ron played the maximum number of pro hockey games, making a bright entrance into the NHL with the Boston Brums and finishing the season in Minneapolis. Frank Schock is taking his basic training with the Royal Canadian Artillery at Shilo, Man, Frank is the second son of Mr.and Mrs.Schock. Mr.and Mrs.Gerry Coons have his sister, Mrs. Rita Catleton of London, Ont., visiting this week and she will renew old acquaint- ances in Schreiber. Mr.J.Terpstra spent the holidays at home in Peterborough and in Toronto. Mr.G.Unger visited with his family in St. Catherines and also with Mrs.Unger's rela- tives in the same area, He attended some 0.E.A. sessions and Science demonstrations wh; while his wife and daughters shopped in Toron to. Mr.K. Pelew visited his brother, Dr. G.W. Pelew in New York during the Easter week. NEM Page 9 Murdo Campbell with his wife Dorothy and children have bid farewell to Terrace Bay after eighteen years with Kimberly-Clark Corporation here, having been transferred to the Purchasing Department in the Toronto Office. A stag was held in his honor prior to the transfer when he was recipient of a wallet and purse of money by his many friends Dorothy was entertained at a Bridge by Mrs W, E.Cavanaugh and Mary Chesley at their home and again at the home of Mrs.Noreen Gilles when a china coffee pot was presented to mark the occasion. Lois Shubaly was hos- tess to their Bridge Club farewell party for Dorothy when members presented her with a crystal cream and sugar with bon voyage wishes. Dorothy was also recipient of a gift from the Credit Union during their Officer's night at the Hotel. All 'School Boards were represented at Conventions in Toronto during Easter week and several teachers attended work shops there. J. Kennedy and W. Sernesky, the lat- ter accompanied by his wife Rosemary, atten- ded the Ontario Separate School Convention in the Royal York Hotel, reporting the main theme was bringing Television into the clas- ses. This was demonstrated by monitoring television right into the Hotel and teachers demonstrated what the students would get out of it. Those attending agreed this was definitely an addition to future classrooms. W. Hanley and J. Beddard attended the Ontario School Trustees and Ratepayers Association Convention held in the King Edward Hotel, who sponsor different cate- gories for trustees, secretaries, business administrators and general sessions. Bill attended the Secretaries sessions and Jim the School Trustees. Bill Cavanaugh was a delegate to the Secondary School Convention. He was accom- panied east by his wife. Miss Pat Huminicki travelled to Winnipeg to visit her brother over the holidays. Mr.and Mrs. Phil O'Grady entertained as guests, her family from Kirkland Lake, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Acton. Miss Joyce Raper spent the holidays visit- ing in Toronto and New York. Mr.and Mrs. W.K.Shier of Sault Ste.Marie and family were guests of Mr.and Mrs. A. Hartman. Mr.and Mrs. L.Rajotte and daughter visited friends and relatives in Winnipeg. Mr.and Mrs. E.Macadam visited friends and relatives in the Lakehead during the holidays. Mr.Bill Eckert motored to Oakville to visit relatives and friends during the vaca- tion. Mr.and Mrs, Ray Kenney with daughter Colleen visited his home in Elgin, Ontario following the Ontario Educational Associa--= tion Convention in Toronta where he and Mr. W.Colborne attended sessions of urban prin- cipals and 0.E.C.T.A.
