Coons, at his home in London, Ontario a February 18. Mr. Coons had resided in Schreiber for forty- six years, from 1908 to 1952. During that time he had been active in sports as a hockey, football and lacrosse player. He is survived by his wife Mary, two daughters, Winona, Mrs. M.B.McMurray of Collingwood, Rita, Mrs. W. Carleton of London and one son, Gerald, of Terrace bay, also three sisters, eleven grand- children and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the George E. Logan and Sons Funeral Home at | :30 p.m. on Friday and interment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario. RAILROAD TELEGRAPHERS HOLD ANNUAL SPIEL The Telegraphers held their Annual Bonspiel at the Schreiber Curling Club last Saturday. Winners were as follows:= Ist event - Peter Doig, Barry Harper, Peter Christie, Carl Pearson (Schreiber) who received individual trophies presented by Chairman J.A.Whent also trays, compliment of Corby's. 2nd. Event - Coke Campbell, Alex Krystia, Larry Tremblay, Bruce Morgan = won a carton of confec- tionery. 3rd .Event - Johnnie Slobodian, Paavo Pelto,, Bill Baynes and Bill Niemi - won Beer Steins. The group were later enter- tained by friends in Schreiber . Mr. and Mrs. John Cavanaugh have returned to Elliott Lake after visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Cavanaugh and Mr.and Mrs. Dan Mac= | Fadyen. Mr. Wm. Edmunds of Sturgeon Falls has been the guest of his son and daughter-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Edmunds, for the past five weeks. AUXILIARY MEMBERS TO SEE FASHIONS The Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Monday evening, March 2nd at 8:15 in the Terrace Bay Community Church. Rev. T.Garnett Husser will open the meet- ing with an Easter Worship service. Guests for the evening, Mrs. Jack Anderson and Mrs. Fred Ford, will be on hand to give the ladies a preview of spring and summer fashions. All ladies are cordially invited to attend. Sympathy is extended to Al Pattison on the sudden passing, Saturday, February 15 of his Father, Mr. John Pattison, at his home in Winnipeg.
