THE NEWS ai The year just closed has been a good one for the residents of Terrace Bay. Among other things we learned that governing any community by the democratic process is not always easy and that we are no exception. The steady growth in things cultural as well as in sports and material pursuits is noticeable and gratifying. There is increasing interest in the Art Club, the Horticultural Society and the Town Band; a fine swimming pool has been completed and a new golf course well started; indeed there are so many things to do that we will need to guard against getting spread too thinly over too many activities. At the mill, quality and volume of production has held up well... Our perfor- mance in the field of safety has been excellent. | sincerely congratulate every employee for their contribution to safety in working well over a year without a disabling injury. Objectives such as this are not gained by good fortune alone but by a combination of desire and hard work on the part of our employees backed by their families. Withthe leg we already have toward our new objective of 2,000,000 accident free man hours, there is no reason why we should not go on to establish this new record for the Pulp and Paper Industry in Canada. A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR TO ALL IN 1964. John Ferrier, Mill Manager .
