OF HEALTH MEETING Reeve W.E. DtArcy presided for a meeting of the local Board of Health, held in the Town Hall, Present at the meeting were Dr; J,M, Cornell, M,O.H., Mrs, WG. Furlonger, - ratepayers representative; Mr, Ted Borutski, towm foreman and R,C, Skinner, secretary, A letter was received from the Provincial Health Inspector regarding the restaurant being constructed adjacent to the Anglican Church, The board referred this letter to the council to deal with recommendations as set out in the Public Health Act, Dr. Cornell asked Mr, Borutski to in- vestigate a matter of drainage onto the high- way and see if this situation has been cor- rected, Mr, Borutski reported the nuisance ground in good condition, and septic tanks and cess pools satisfactory with two exceptions, these to be checked again for overflow into the ravine. On recommendation of Dr, Cornell, the secretary was instructed to write the Depart- ment of Highways stating that the South end of Walkers Lake has been contaminated for the past three or four years and is getting worse due to the old drainage being blocked off by Department of Highways road development work, Dairies were inspected and found in good condition, water tests were satisfactory.
