EXECUTIVE MEETING HELD DY LADY CURLERS The Executive of the Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club met on Tuesday evening, June 26th to discuss plans for the coming season, President D,Douchard chaired the meeting and minutes of the last executive meeting were, read by Secretary, VeGalvin, The Treasurer's report was presented by H,Drophy and various Committee Chairmen were appointed as follows:-. Treasurer & Membership - N,Coates, Fund Rais~ ing -V,Hanna and D,Douchard, Draw = A.Dlom and V,Galvin, Bonspiel - S,Duquette and A, Blom, Prizes - O.Chaptan and V.Hanna and En- tertainment - A,Smithe TRACK AND FIELD CLINIC Any children over the age of 12 who have not yet registered for the Legion Track and Field Clinic, being held on July 10th to 13th, should contact the Recreation Office immediately. A panel of expert coaches will be on hand to provide top-notch training, from 2 to 4 P.M. each afternoon and from 8 to 10 P.M, each evening of the four days of the clinic. Registration maximum is 80 athletes, so that those wishing to take part should re- gister immediately, This includes people from Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Marathon, White River and Manitouwadge,. Those who have registered should note that they will be required to attend each session, and that they should come with shorts and running or track shoes, a BILLETS. NEEDED Response to the request for billets for some of the visiting athletes to the Legion Track and Field Clinic, being held here July 10th to 13th, has been very slow, If you can billet a boy or girl of teen age for the duration of the clinic, please contact Mrs, Betty Wood or the Recreation Office immediately. | ' MINOR BASEBALL PLAYOFFS Playoffs in two of the minor Baseball Leagues are being held this week as follows: AMERICAN LEAGUE - Semi Finals - YANKEES de- feated TIGERS in the best 2 out of 3 playoffs, for the right to meet the INDIANS, Finals - INDIANS vs' YANKEES at 4,30 on Wed- nesday and Thursday, and Friday if necessary, NATIONAL LEAGUE - Sudden death semi-finals Wednesday at 4,30 - DODGERS vs PIRATES; on Thursday at 4,30, BRAVES vs GIANTS, FINALS - Winners of the above two scries will meet for the championship. ALL-STAR:- PRACTICES - Practices for all-star teams in the National and Bantam Leagues will commence immediately after playoffs,
