Strutt and Clerk Hanley. A full representat- ion included Councillors Evans-Smith, .Heenan, Gilles and Duncan, Minutes of the last regular and special meeting were adopted as read, Correspondence read by the Secretary included request and permission granted for C,G,I,T, members to canvas on Friday, October 27 with Hallowefen Candy, and again request and permission to the Boy Scout Association to hold their Annual Apple Day on October 28, A report from the Commerce Committee on their decision to spons- or a display in the Ontario Tourist Guide Book put out by the Essex Auto Club, Various interests within the town will participate in this display. A further letter from the Lake Superior Highway Association in connection with their newest publication was referred to the Commerce Committee. Correspondence to and from.their Solicitor concerned transfer of title property within the proposed indust- rial site. A letter from the Graduate Nurses in town emphasized the importance of an Emergency Measures Program, and the public interest aroused through imminence of nuclear fallout. Their suggestion to.have Mr, Paul Wark, EMO come to Terrace Bay to speak to Council and before the public was agreed to by Council. Council felt the precautions to be learned by the individual on personal or family survival under any emergency conditions was a worthy effort, despite the fact the town was far removed from most of these hazards, Council accepted a proposal to pr~chase property from Kimberly-Clark Corporation for 'the development of a (Continued on Page 7)
